Chapter 22

🐔Chica🐔

I ran into the security guard's office. Vanessa was sitting at her desk in front of her computer and gave me a confused look as I ran into her office out of breath.

"Chica? What happened?" the security guard asked me and waited for me to give her an answer.

I had to calm my breathing before I could answer. "Bruno...Bruno had an accident at Roxy Raceway. He's totally broken." answered I then when my breathing had calmed down.

When Vanessa heard what I told to her she immediately got up from her chair and ran with me back to Roxy's go-kart track.

When we got to the Roxy Raceway area all the guests still stood there in shock and looked at the totally broken dog lying motionless on the ground. Roxy knelt beside Bruno sobbing and trying desperately to wake him up.

Many tears flowed from the female wolf's eyes.

Vanessa looked at the broken Bruno and then looked at the sobbing Roxy. "How did that happen?" asked the security guard.

Roxy got up.

"It...it all happened way too fast. Suddenly this kart came towards us...Bruno saved me...and..and the kart hit him." said the female wolf and put both hands over her eyes.

"Can you fix Bruno?" I asked the security guard and walked to Roxy to hug her gently. The female wolf snuggled up to me with her ears hanging and continued to sob.

"I'm taking Bruno to Parts and Service and I'll see what I can do for him. He's very badly damaged." answered Vanessa.

Three bots came to help the security guard bring the broken Bruno to Parts and Service.

"Can...can I come with you?" Roxy asked.

"I can understand that you are worried about Bruno and that you want to be with him but you have to stay here on your go-kart track with the guests." said Vanessa to the female wolf. "I'll try everything to help Bruno."

Roxy then nodded and said in a sad voice. "I...I hope everything goes well...I don't know what to do when Bruno leaves me...I can't be without him anymore. I love my sweet Bruno so much."

Vanessa gently placed her hand on Roxy's shoulder. "Bruno will not leave you." then the three bots took the broken dog and took him to Parts and Service with the security guard.

I hugged Roxy gently again and said to her. "Everything will be fine. I'm sure Vanessa can fix Bruno."

Roxy looked at me with sad eyes. "I hope you're right Chica." she said and sniffled.

The female wolf explained everything about go-karts to the children, but she couldn't hide her sadness and now and then tears flowed from her eyes again.

Me and the kids had tried to cheer Roxy up somehow.

When I finished my job at Roxy Raceway I went to Parts and Service.

My thoughts had only been with Bruno the whole time. I was very worried about him.

Parts and Service was a large room with a protective dome in the middle. In the dome was a large chair with several robotic arms. Bruno was lying on the chair the robotic arms had exchanged his broken parts for new parts. But the brown dog still hadn't woken up.

Freddy was sitting in a different chair and was being scanned for malfunctions by Vanessa.

"Okay Freddy, everything looks fine. I can't find any malfunctions." said the security guard to the bear.

Freddy got up from the chair and said. "Thanks Officer Vanessa I hope I don't ruin any birthdays or stage performances now anymore."

When Vanessa was done with Freddy's examination, I immediately rushed to the security guard and asked worried. "What about Bruno? Is he alright? Why hasn't he woken up yet?"

"I've been able to repair Bruno well, but I still need a few important parts to fully repair him. He won't wake up without these important parts." answered Vanessa me. "Unfortunately, the parts I need for this will not be delivered until tomorrow morning."

"Tomorrow morning?" I said whimpering and let my ears droop sadly.

"Don't be sad Roxy. Vanessa knows what she's doing. She helped me a lot too." Freddy said in a soft voice to me. "If the important parts are there tomorrow morning, Vanessa can install them on Bruno and then he will wake up again."

I looked with sad eyes at the large protective dome in which Bruno lay motionless on the large chair. A few tears flowed from my eyes again. Then we left the Parts and Service area.

When the Pizzaplex closed, we had to go to our rooms. I heard Monty rampaging around his room again. I lay restless on my couch and couldn't fall asleep.

I got up from my couch and pushed the button that opened the door to the maintenance room then took the elevator down to the parts and service area.

I went down the stairs. Bruno was still lying in the large protective dome on the large chair. I used the computer to make the dome door open and I go in to the brown dog. I snuggled down carefully next to Bruno on the large chair. "I will not let you alone." I said in a low voice and gently pressed my nose on his cheek. Then my eyes slowly closed and I fell asleep next to him.
