As soon as we got back home, Tyler and I started planning Cameron's birthday party. We only had 5 days to get everything together, but there's not going to be many people here anyways so we didn't go too crazy. The morning of the party, there's a knock at the door. I go to answer it and Tyler runs past me to the door.
"What's wrong?" I say, confused as hell.
He puts his hand on the doorknob and says, "Nothing! I can take care of this. Can you start putting the decorations up?"
I furrow my brows at him, and roll my eyes. I start taking the decorations out of the bags and taping things up on the walls. Tyler opens the door and steps out onto the porch. I'm half tempted to go over to the window and sneak a peek at whoever is at the door, but I know he will catch me spying. After a minute or two, he comes back inside.
"What was all that about? Who was at the door?" I ask in an annoyed tone.
"It's nothing. It's just a little surprise for Cam for his birthday. I promise you, everything is fine. Here, let me help you." He says as he grabs the piece of tape from my hand and lifts the birthday banner up higher.
There's another knock at the door, then it opens and Whitney walks right in like she owns the place.
"I'm here to help. What can I do?" She says as she sets her gift for Cam down on the kitchen counter.
"You can start blowing up the balloons if you want? We got two helium tanks. I hope that's enough." I say as I point to the tanks in the living room.
Whitney gets to work on the balloons, ties strings around them all, and releases them into the ceiling. I start hearing loud noises coming from the backyard. I walk over towards the back door and Tyler stops me.
"Hey hey hey, no peeking!" He says, blocking my view completely.
"Ugh! Why can't I know what his surprise is? It's not like it's for me!" I say as I roll my eyes and go back to hanging decorations all over the wall.
He chuckles and says, "Because I'm excited about this surprise. Just let me have this, please."
I sigh heavily and continue taping the decorations. He comes up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist, "Would it help if you went and picked up his cake? That way you're not tempted to look."
I think about it for a minute and turn and ask him, "Can I take the Tesla?"
He chuckles and says, "Hmmm..."
I smile like a little schoolgirl and sing, "Please..."
He leans against the wall, "I don't know... That's my favorite car. What do I get out of it if I let you take it?"
I stand on my tippy toes and whisper in his ear, "Whatever you want..."
I can feel a smile growing on his face as he leans down and kisses my cheek. He goes over to the garage door where he keeps the keys hanging on a little hook. He grabs the Tesla keys and hands them to me.
"Be careful, baby." He says as he releases the keys from his hand.
I wink at him and head out the door. I start the car up and carefully pull out of the garage.
TYLER'S POV:
I watched Ali back out of the garage and wait until the car leaves the driveway to run upstairs. I go upstairs and get into my hidden safe in the closet. Ali doesn't even know about this safe, which makes it the perfect place to hide this little blue box. I grab the box and put it in my pocket, poke my head in Cameron's room to check on him, then head back downstairs. Whitney is still sitting on the couch, blowing up the balloons.
