The past six months have flown by so fast, it's hard to believe Tyler and I will be married in less than a month! It's been stressful, trying to plan a wedding with Ty during the season, but somehow we managed to do it in a very short amount of time. And now that we're in the off season, everything has been running a lot smoother around here, that's for sure. Luckily, when Tyler wasn't able to be around to help with the planning, Whitney has been. And to my surprise, so has Tori and Talia.
Tori and I have always gotten along, for the most part. She was kind of stand offish in the beginning of mine and Tyler's relationship, but she came around pretty quickly when she realized how serious Tyler was/is about me. As for Talia, she will occasionally throw a snide comments my way, but ever since Chloe Jane was born, she has definitely been making more of an effort to get to know me and play nice. And the more time we spend together, the more I actually like her.
Today, I am going to brunch with Whitney, Connie, Tori and Talia. After brunch, we are going to pick up my wedding dress. Whitney gets to my house and rides with me to the restaurant where Connie, Tori, and Talia are already waiting for us. We head inside and wait for our waitress to bring over our mimosas and take our order. While we sip on our drinks and wait for our food to arrive, everybody discusses the last minute wedding details.
Tori looks at me and says, "So, Ali. How are you feeling? It's getting so close to wedding day!"
I grin, "I know, I can't believe it! I'm getting even more excited every day, but also like, super anxious the closer we get to the actual day."
Talia looks up from her phone, "You're not getting cold feet, are you?"
I furrow my brows, "Oh, absolutely not! I just want everything to be perfect. I never imagined the day anybody would actually want to settle down and marry me. Let alone the most perfect man on the planet!"
The girls chuckle softly. Connie smiles and says, "He is a good one, that's for sure, but I think you're just as good for him as he is for you."
I shyly smile, "Thank you."
We continue chatting while we finish up our brunch. We leave the restaurant and head towards the bridal boutique where my gorgeous dress is waiting for me. Whitney is the only one that has seen my dress so far. She helped me pick it out a couple months ago. We pull into the parking lot and start walking towards the front door.
Connie puts one arm around my shoulder and hugs me tightly, "I am so excited to see this dress!"
I chuckle softly at her excitement and lead the way to the front desk. We all sit around in the waiting area, drinking champagne, and making small talk while the woman at the front desk finds my dress in the back.
The woman comes out holding my dress bag over her head, "Alright, ladies. Follow me this way."
She leads us to a room with a pedestal in the center, surrounded by mirrors. "Have a seat, ladies. I am going to take the bride back to the dressing rooms and help her get into her dress. Feel free to browse through our accessories while you wait."
The girls take their seats and wait patiently while the stylist and I head to the dressing room. I get undressed and slip into my gown. The stylist zips up the back and places a long veil in my hair. She carries the train as I walk back to the room where the girls are all waiting for me. As soon as I entered, all of them gasped in sync. The stylist helps me step up onto the pedestal and fluffs my train.
"Oh my God, Ali! Honey!" Connie says with her hands up to her mouth, "You are stunning!" She grabs a tissue from the table and dries her eyes.
Tori comes closer to me and admires my dress, "This is the most incredible dress, Ali! I absolutely love the lace. Look at the details on this thing. Oh my God."
