It's been a week since that perfect day. The day that Tyler got down on one knee on our new front porch and asked me to marry him. A day I will truly never forget. Along with today, the day we are moving into our beautiful new home. Tyler, Blake, Tommy, and a couple of Ty's teammates have been working so hard all day, loading and unloading the trucks full of furniture. Tyler won't let me help move anything in the slightest bit since I'm 5 months pregnant, so Whitney, Connie, and myself have been inside unpacking everything while the boys bring everything inside.
"How're you feeling, Ali?" Connie asks me as she unwraps the glassware.
"I'm feeling pretty good actually! The only complaint I really have is major heartburn 80% of the day." I say as I put the glasses away in the cabinets.
"Have you guys thought of any other names for her?" Whitney asks as she continues unpacking the plates.
"We haven't decided on one yet, but we want it to flow with Cameron. So we're thinking of names that start with a C." I say as I sit down on one of the barstools to take a break.
"You could always name her Connie!" Connie shouts excitedly.
I giggle and say, "That's an idea!"
She chuckles back at me and says, "Honey, I'm joking! This is your baby! You should name her whatever you and Tyler feel is the perfect name for her. Don't let anyone pressure you!"
I absolutely adore my future mother-in-law. I only wish my own mother was here to be a part of all of this too. The house, the wedding, and more than anything... our baby girl. She would have adored Tyler, maybe even more than my own dad. She would have seen how he treats Cameron alone and been sold from the get go. I'd like to think that my mom and dad are both looking down on me from the clouds, more proud than ever.
Tyler and Tommy bring the last couch into the house and set it down in the living room. Tyler makes his way over to me and hugs me from behind, "Are you feeling okay, baby?"
I look back at him and lightly kiss his lips, "I'm alright, Ty. Just taking a breather. I run out of breath so easily nowadays. It feels like she's constantly putting pressure on my lungs."
He rubs my shoulders lightly and looks around the house filled with boxes. "Well, we've got everything unloaded from the trucks. Do you mind if I send the guys home? I can unpack the rest of the stuff."
I nod my head in agreement. He kisses the top of my head and walks back outside where all of the guys are standing around, drinking beers. He thanks them all for helping out today and sends them away with the rest of the beer and pizzas that we ordered for everyone. He comes back inside and starts unpacking more of the kitchen boxes.
TYLER'S POV:
My mom looks at me and asks, "So are you feeling good about week 1? I know you won't be playing, but is everybody feeling ready?"
"Yeah, I'd say everybody is feeling pretty good. I wish I were playing, but 4 weeks isn't that long, I guess." I say in a low voice so I don't upset Ali.
Mom whispers, "How do you think she's going to do with Cameron starting school and the season starting so close together? I mean, he starts kindergarten next week, right?"
I nod my head, "Yup, he starts on the 28th. Our first game is on the 3rd. I think she will be okay. She's having a harder time with Cam going to school than football season starting, I think."
"I cried for days when all of you kids started kindergarten. You'll see. It's not easy watching your babies grow up." She says as she unpacks the silverware.
