The first month of school went by pretty quick. C and I hung out a lot both inside and outside of school. My dad always was like, "OOoOoooOoO," How annoying.

We were assigned a project in science class today. C, being my lab partner, would be working with me on it. It wasn't too difficult, but did require a lot of time.

"So, after school today, should we work on the project?" I asked him. "Yea, if you want to," he said, putting his back pack on, "We could get a head start on it."
I suggested that we go to his house because my dad works late on Fridays. He was hesitant, but agreed.

It was after school and I was looking for C. I found him waiting outside the school doors for me. "Hey," he said, smiling, "Are you ready to go?" I nodded.

"You.. Just can't judge my house. It's not very.. Well, it's different than yours." That was strange and, if I could, I would raise my eyebrow at it. "Alright, so long as I don't see any furries, I'll be ok." I said jokingly.

We started the walk and I could tell C was uncomfortable. "You ok?" I asked him. "Yea.. Bat, what do you think my house is gonna be like?" He asked me. I didn't really know. We'd only ever gone to my house, so I didn't have a picture in my mind. I just shrugged. "It doesn't matter. As long as we can work on the project, it's fine, right?"

We got on his street in a couple minutes. It was kind of a long walk and I was wondering why his parents didn't pick us up. Maybe they didn't know. His neighborhood was really nice. Big houses. "Damn, you must be rich or something to live around here." I said. He laughed and said, "You could say. But don't judge a book by it's cover. Nice houses don't always have nice things happen inside." Ok. Now he was just being weird. Really weird. Like his voice even.. Changed a little? I don't know.

C took a deep breath. "Here's my house!" He said with a clearly forced smile. Holy sh*t. When I said earlier that he had to be rich, I was joking. What is this. It's a f*ck*ng mansion. With big metal gates that mafias have in movies. He must've sensed my excitement because he motioned that I could go in.
