***quick reminder that in my book, Hange's pronouns are she/they because Hange has no real gender in the mangas but seems more feminine to me personally.

The stench of death. One of the few things in this world capable of making Charlie Ackerman feel ill. In the underworld, it didn't bother her. But on the surface, after seeing so many good people die, Charlie had grown to despise that smell. She'd begun to fear it.
The fear that had welded inside of her. And she was terrified. Scared of what was to come. She didn't show such emotions but she did feel them. And she rejected them, in an attempt to protect her heart.
If Charlie felt the weight of all the terrible things that had happened to her or that she'd seen, she'd break in half. And she refused to let that happen. She refused to be so weak.
But watching Hange fall... that cut a hole right through Charlie. Zoe Hange was a lot of things. Narcotic and over-the-top, sure, but they/she was someone who somehow allied herself with Levi and Charlie. Hange was a friend.
But hearing Hange cry out in pain and then flop to the floor like a dead body, that made Charlie afraid.
Not again. Images of Petra's death flashed in Charlie's mind. Not another person.
"Hange!"
Charlie was fast on ODM gear but she basically shot like a bullet through the pillars and landed hard on the crystalized ground. Pain shot through injured ankles but she ignored it, rushing over to Hange.
The dark haired girl squatted down, rolling Hange onto they're back and checked for breathing and a pulse. Hange was breathing fine enough but she was knocked out. Charlie checked the back of they're head, making sure they're skull hadn't split open but Hange must've just hit their head because there were no injuries aside from their shoulder.
"Is the Section Commander alright?" A voice asked as someone landed next to her. Moblit.
"Bleeding but alive. Only injury is in the shoulder." Charlie answered weakly, flood with relief and worry washed away. But with that came the realization of how bad her own injured were, squatted on broken ankles.
Moblit glanced over at the small girl, noticing small trembles come over her features. "...Are you okay?" Moblit questioned. Everyone knew Levi and Charlie were hardheads and (by some opinion's) assholes, but both had a bad tendency to fight while injured.
It wasn't just a few people noticing though, it was fairly obvious that Charlie shouldn't be moving in any capacity. It was sort've a miracle that she could.
Charlie's expression was dark but her nose was scrunched and eyebrows pushed together, the only sign that she was in any pain aside from the involuntary shaking.
