[Y/N] screamed in pain and horror at watching Rider die.
The gun fired. A 9mm bullet landed in his systemic heart, a vital organ and the main artery of a squid.
Quicker than the eye could blink, blue-colored spatter was everywhere. Some landed on [Y/N], which caused them to cry out in fear and in shock. Being unprepared for a gruesome sight of their friend, they couldn't control any emotion. They felt every emotion but positivity all at the same time, along with every stage of grief but acceptance. They wanted to pass out and wake up from just an unpleasant nightmare. But they couldn't. The adrenaline kept them awake and in horrendous pain. Their chest hurt. They couldn't breathe. They struggled in the tight rope closing in, wrapping around them, burning their skin. They shouted Rider's name, waiting to wake up from this nightmare.
Rider fell to the floor, taking the last breath he would ever take, years early. The last sight he would ever see would be the person who changed his life, taking it.
His last concious thought was, No...this can't be...this isn't him. I couldn't...save him. Just another...pointless...side character. That's all...I'll ever be. And so...the end of the Rider arc...he dies...in the end. For Goggles. For his killer. For his friends. Yet...the side character...is just meaningless...in this story. Why...was I so meaningful? Me? She chose...me. Tch...thank you...[Y/N]...thank you...Hinodeya...thank you...Nogami...thank you...Goggles...for choosing me...so my life...how short it was...wasn't...meaningless. [Y/N], finish what I started. I'll guide you. My time...my chapter...is...over.
With that, Rider lay lifeless on the ground, a pool of blood on the wound and the area surrounding his upper body.
[Y/N] said in tears, "Why?"
"Why would you...how could you...you're nothing more than a hivemind now."
"What's done is done. I can't take it back now. Plus, I'm not him."
"You killed Rider. Do I have to elaborate? Your lover, not programmed, is dead on the floor. His blood is on you. On your hands. On your lies. He gave his life to you for you to take it forever. And you're acting like this? I care about him more than you do. You're really...psycho, aren't you?"
"Shut up."
"You loved him despite coding and storyline. And now he's dead. You happy now? You killed Rider."
"Shut up."
"He brought immense joy into your life, and you just decided to thank him by killing him?! What kind of a main character are you?!"
"Shut up!"
"How could you take something so precious from your lover over a company?! You've ruined the lives of hundreds of thousands of fans, friends, family...all for what?! Pirating a game?! Why?! What was it all for?!"
"SHUT UP!"
"You created an amazing thing for people all over the world to enjoy, to love, and you sacrifice the person you care about most to keep a company safe?! Who's next, your team?! I can't believe you! You're not the Goggles I know! You're not the Goggles ANYONE knows! You're a pathological liar and a murderer. A MURDERER. HOW. COULD. YOU?! Rider is dead!! His body is cold on the floor, all the blood gone from his skin, the passion in his punctured heart is gone, the soul in his eyes is gone, the love for you is gone and you're okay?! He loved you so much! You did amazing things for him just to let him down?!...Goggles, none of you deserve this! Let go of Nintendo! Be the fun-loving, carefree Inkling you are! Because that's who Rider loved. He didn't love a liar. Yet, that's who he died to. For shame."
"SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!"
Goggles put the gun against [Y/N]'s forehead.
"Don't do this! For Rider! For Specs! For Bobble! For Headphones! For everyone in the world that loves the real you! You are Goggles, the main character who changes lives! Not who you are on the outside! Be the real Goggles again, and the world can smile."
He had tears in his eyes.
"It's too late. I'm...sorry...for...this..."
He gripped the weapon. He pulled the trigger.
Goggles fired the gun once more.
He shot you.
