Y/n sat in the green clad common room, her books had been tossed around the area, cluttered around and even on top of her drying essays. The girl herself had abandoned the tasks at hand and instead opted to lay across a small armchair holding a book above her face. Her legs were thrown over the armrest as she sat silently flicking the pages. It had been the first time in a while that the common room was quiet but with most at the great hall, it was completely and utterly empty and she was enjoying every last second.
The metal frames of the entrance squeaked slightly as the door was pushed through, allowing for the buzzing of conversation to interrupt the eerie silence. Too engrossed in the words strewn across her page, y/n didn't bother to look up. It was only when a slender hand clad in a silver ring pushed down the top of her book did she bother to look up.
Coming to face to face with a certain Zabini boy.
She smiled slightly, using her elbows to push herself up into a sitting position as Pansy walked over, propping herself on the girl's armrest. It had been a while since they had actually talked besides from the classes they shared or her gossip sessions with Pansy deep into the night. They had all been busy with their snitch squad? The girl hadn't bothered to learn the name of Umbridge's minions. She herself had been spending almost every second with Hermione as they spoke in hushed whispers about their own choice of extracurricular. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy their company per say, but rather their choices.
Pansy was the first to interrupt her thoughts, twisting her black hair in her fingers she tilted her head down slightly. Her eyes were slightly sparkling, similar to that of the twins when one of their master plans was set in place. If Pansy had ever heard her say that she would have been immediately disowned, but the similarities between her rivalling friends brought her a small sense of comfort.
"Y/n how do you feel about hanging out with me at Hogsmeade. We can go shopping and there's a new book I've been meaning to buy."
Before the girl could even respond she looked at the pleading look on the girls face and immediately knew her answer.
"Sure it sounds like fun"
She pulled a smile onto her lips in a reassuring manner to seal the deal.
"Thank good, these guys were planning on abandoning me for their stupid boys trip tomorrow"
Y/n's smile faltered slightly, eyes growing wider as Pansy's words were drowned out by her own thoughts at the chosen date bing tomorrow. Glancing back up at the rambling girl she tapped her softly.
"Can i bring a friend"
Pansy, nodded her head violently, too caught up in her own excitement as she rambled on about the places she wanted to visit to even care about the prospect of an unknown guest.
🍵🍵🍵
As the girls stood together in anticipation of their last friend. Y/n shivered, slightly from the harsh winds and slightly from the two friends she was about to spend the day with. Soft voices choruses together in her head, muttering worries and fuelling her anxious nature. Pansy still hadn't let go of her excitement almost vibrating in place at how jittery she was. Y/n's other friend had been almost equally as excited when she had heard the addition to their day, claiming,
"It's so great to get away from these two", she had jabbed her finger in the direction of two boys who huddled around a table giggling like little schoolgirls in whispered tones, "at least I can conserve some brain cells without them around for a day"
Pansy sneered slightly as a certain bushy haired Gryffindor strolled closer to the pair. However, it was quickly wiped straight off instead replaced with a slightly gaping mouth as the said girl stopped abruptly in front of the pair, greeting y/n with a tight lip. As both of them stared the other down, y/n cringed slightly, preparing for the inevitable outburst.
