On the previous chapter of out heroes' journey, the trio of Lune, Cassandra and Scarlet arrived at the Hoenn region. Our young two time champion Lune had not only gotten two new pokemon, but he had also obtained the first of the Hoenn League badges. However not all is well in the region, as two nefarious teams, Team Aqua and Team Magma, are causing trouble. What lies in store for our heroes as they sail for Dewford Town?
The More Things Change!
Get a Move On To Mauville!
We find our heroes on the tail end of a boat trip with Mr. Briney, as they dock in Dewford Town so they can deliver a letter to someone named Steven. Their search leads them to Granite Cave, when they come across a room not too far from the entrance. Inside said room is someone admiring the mural that decorates the wall.
???: Mmhmm. So in the ancient world, their primal forms once held this much power? The super-ancient pokemon, what terrible strength. But this appearance here, it seems somehow different from Mega Evolution Hmm, it seems my questions will not be answered today.
Lune: Excuse me.
The young man turns towards the group and Lune could've sworn he saw his eyes widen before they returned to neutrality.
???: Oh, who might you all be?
Lune: My name is Lune. These fine ladies are Cassandra and Scarlet.
Cassie: Nice to meet you.
Scarlet: *Waves*
???: Ah, I see. It's a pleasure to meet you all. My name is Steven. I'm interested in rare stones, so I travel here and there. Today my journey brought me here, but what about you?
Lune: Well, we got a letter for you, from a Mr. Stone.
Steven: Oh? Why, thank you, it must have been some trouble to track me down.
Lune: Nah, it wasn't too bad.
Steven: Still, I suppose I must repay you in some way. Alas, I have nothing on my person to give. However, what I can give you is information.
Cassie: Information? On what?
Steven: As I was exploring the lower levels of this cave, I came across a peculiarly colored pokemon. I imagine its colored so due to an unusual diet. It may be worth your while to investigate.
Lune(Interested): Hmm, it does sound pretty neat. What the heck, I'll go check it out. Thanks for the tip.
Leaving Steven to his devices, the trio exit the room and they journey through the cave's dark depths. The group come across groups of Sableye hoarding various gems in piles. They make sure not to stray too close and invoke their ire. As they do, they hear a faint crunching sound in the distance. Getting closer to the noise, they see a small blue mass in front of a pile of sapphire clumps. Upon further inspection, they see that it was an Aron with a deep blue hide, happily feasting away.
