"We must tie up the Lime case," Flix said. "We've wasted too much of our time and too much of Mrs. Lime's money on it."
"What do you propose?" Phalen asked. "She is insistent on retaining us for the remaining two weeks."
"I know," Flix said. "And we've turned up nothing. I daresay the next couple of weeks will follow the same pattern. I am beginning to believe Mr. Henry Lime is a saint."
"A saint. That's it, Cupid! Excuse me, but I've got to run," Phalen said, removing his gloves and bolting out the door.
Flix and Baby were shocked, staring at the door that stood partially open.
