"Sunghoon? When are you getting off work today?" I asked him as soon as he woke up. Today was my birthday and I didn't have anyone to spend it with. Horang and Haru just went on a business trip so I was kind of alone, besides Sunghoon, "I don't know when I'll be home, because I need to go somewhere else after." He yawned after answering. I nodded and laid on the bed again.

I saw Sunghoon getting ready while laying, cuddled up in the blanket. "I'll get going then." He informed me in a quiet voice as I was about to fall asleep. "Have fun." I smiled at him, eyes half closed as he came to my bedside. I didn't even try to turn around and just closed my eyes. "Don't worry, we'll have fun tonight." I felt him stroking my hair as I smiled a little. "Take as long as you need today. It wasn't that important anyway." - "Okay." Sunghoon mumbled and left the room. As soon as he left the room, I sighed.

After having another good sleep, I finally made myself ready and wore my favourite dress. While I was doing my make up, Horang called me to wish me a happy birthday. We talked for a while with also Haru joining us, "So you're telling me he doesn't have time?" I nodded again, "I don't mind though, he doesn't know." Haru nodded understood.

"Whatever. I'm just going to do what I do everyday." I smiled making sure they don't have to worry. Horang took the phone and looked closely at the camera, "We will throw a belated birthday party! Don't worry, Eura!" She gave me her sweet little smile as I laughed. "Yes, yes I won't. Now have fun at work! Bye!" I hung up, smiling.

"Mom! Dad!" - "Happy birthday my favourite daughter!" My dad made me an heart with his two hands as mom was holding the camera with a big smile on her face, "but I'm your only daughter." I laughed which they did too. My mom also wished me a happy birthday, showing me the cake she made for me. I smiled thinking about them, "Hopefully we will see each other soon." I mumbled, seeing my parents on my screen.

When it started getting late, I started cooking dinner. Sunghoon must be eating wherever he was, so I didn't bother and ate dinner myself. It felt boring again but it was acceptable.

I was about to clean the kitchen when my phone rang again. Confused I asked myself who it could be, but it was no one else than Jay himself. "Eura, where do you live? I have to tell you something." I hesitated quietly, making him wonder if I was still on the line. I made an agreeing sound, "let's just meet there." I decided and hung up.

Why should I let him know where I live? He's my ex and doesn't need to be involved in my stuff.

I finished up cleaning the kitchen and went on to meet Jay at our old shared spot, where we shared our first kissed and where he asked me out the first time. It easily became a memorable spot for me but now, since the thing from last time, I don't think I share only good memories with that spot.

Today I got off of work earlier, I still wonder what Eura wanted to do with me but she said it wasn't that important, so I let it slide.

Today was the birthday of my girlfriend, who passed away because of a car accident. So I wanted to visit her grave.

I went through the coffee shops door, making the cashier get alarmed that a new customer arrived. She looked at me in pity once I smiled at her. Sarangs, best friend.

"Hey, Bora." I smiled at her once again, "Again?" I nodded silently. "I moved on though, I took your advice." Bora finally smiled at me, a comfort smile. She went into the kitchen to get a small cake and I just looked at her patiently.

I would never tell Eura about my girlfriend. Eura doesn't need to know. I know it was shitty of me to lie at her, but I needed someone who'll help me move on. I just couldn't live the guilt and pain.

Six months after her burial, Bora told me that Sarang probably wanted me to move on and don't hang on her for years. I knew my love very well, so I could only agree with Bora.

Just when I was looking for someone to help me move on, Eura came across my way. Drunk, heartbroken and homeless. There was no other option but to help her to get back on her feet.

"Tell her, I'll visit soon." Bora gave me a little smile and handed me the cake. I thanked her and made my way to the graveyard.

I was sitting at the bench, waiting for Jay to arrive. From afar I could already see him actually. His black car, him in a suit and a paper bag in his hand. He must've just left work.

I got up from my seat and looked at him as he looked at me, "Happy birthday, Eura." He handed me the bag he was holding earlier. I doubted it first but slowly took it and thanked Jay.

"What did you want to tell me?" I asked curiously when he handed me also a popsicle. "I wanted to hand you the gift. I have been preparing it for a while now and it would be a shame if it got wasted." Jay pouted before he bit into his popsicle. I nodded in silence as we both fell into one.

"Are you still mad? About what I said last time?" He looked at me all serious, making me leave confused. "There is nothing I can be mad about, still. You just have this image of an asshole." I shrugged my shoulders, "I am really sorry. I know what I said wasn't correct in that situation.." Jay fell into silence again after explaining himself.

I nodded again before I pushed myself up from the bench, "We were something once, but now it's all in the past. We should forget the past and focus on the now, shouldn't we? Let's go apart in a good way, okay?" He also got up from his seat, standing now infront of me. "I hope you have a great life and I hope you still have a reason to call me. As friends." He stretched out his hand for me go shake. I looked at him and down to his hand, processing what he had just said. "Thank you for this beautiful time. Maybe in another lifetime." I refused his hand and just hugged him.

One last hug, before I'll never feel him around me again.
