Goodbye

Once in every life

 Someone comes along,

And you came to me

It was almost like a song.

You were in my heart

Right where you belong,

And we were so in love

It was almost like a song.

I paced the hospital wing, glancing at the clock every couple of minutes. It was currently 6:20 and my parents would be arriving any second. My mother was very punctual and believed in being early sometimes. Keith was on the floor in the corner with the book he always carried. As per usual, he was keeping to himself and stayed quiet. There was a tension in the room that anyone could feel. Ace was sitting on one of the beds, fidgeting with his hands nervously. Both of my brothers were worried; I could tell. Draco sat in a chair, his forearms on his legs. He was watching me but I acted as if I didn't notice.

I, myself, was pacing back and forth. There was a knot in my stomach. It was a similar feeling that I received when packing to leave home for the Summer or Christmas holiday. Off in the corner was a bed that had the curtain drawn around it. I knew what it was but refused to stare in that direction for longer than a second. No one was in the proximity of the area and it was for an obvious reason.

"Quinn, please. Come sit, you're limping again," Draco suggested. He noticed earlier this morning that I seemed to be walking unevenly. I refused to tell him what happened to my ankle. I just told him it was the stress. He didn't believe it but never asked any more questions than that.

"I'm fine. It's distracting me," I mumbled whilst hobbling back and forth a couple feet. All attention was grabbed when the door creaked open, revealing Madam Pompfrey. She appeared tired and overworked. It made me feel guilty for some reason.

"Your relatives are on their way along with Professor Umbridge," she told us. I looked over to Ace who was already on his way to stand next to me, as was Keith. Draco caught my gaze and looked at me with a quizzical expression before slowly standing to trek to my side.

I glanced over to my brothers, Keith's eyes on his shoes and Ace's on his hands near his waist. He was still wringing them together anxiously. Every once and a while, I caught him moving his rings nervously from finger to finger.

In one swift, fast motion the door flung up as if done with magic. It made my head dizzy at how aggressive it was. The magic was my mother's. It was not gentle like anyone else who would reside here.

I was right, too.

My tall mother slowly stepped into the room. She was wearing her black cloak-like robes, her heels a deep burgundy purple. My mother was a curvy woman with high cheekbones and long brown hair. It was slightly wavy and rested on her shoulder. It reached her lower back, flowing perfectly. Her eyes were Liam's. They were almost the exact same and it made my stomach twist. She had a mean glare rested upon her face, her wand held tightly in her hand.

At her side was my father who was even taller. He was the definition of a Scottish man, but very posh. Broad shoulders, tough hands, and curly brown hair. Keith got his hair from him, of course. He had dark green eyes and neatly cut facial hair. It wasn't long at all and actually resembled stubble. He wore robes that reminded me of a suit.

They both entered the room and stood, eyeing Draco suspiciously for a moment.

Behind them was a young woman who looked a lot like my mother. However, her hair was pin-straight to her shoulders and her skin was a lot younger; smooth. She wore a cloak over her shoulders, a pencil dress hidden underneath.

Holding her hand was a small young girl with very curly hair. It was very short and covered her head. She had warm skin and deep brown eyes. The little girl sported a flowy jacket that covered her light blue dress for the most part.

My sisters. Cameron was the older one, graduated two years prior. The younger one was Sarah and her attendance at Hogwarts would begin next year.
