Illidan Stormrage x child! Reader (platonic, ofc)
This one shot takes place during Legion. I'm pretty sure Anduin is 16 yrs old during this time, but I could be wrong. Translations might also be wrong lol

Darnassian Translations:
An'da- Father
Dorei- Child

You were exhausted. Worn out, tired, sore, aching. Your father had "taught" you well today. But, all he really "teaches" is combat. That's all he knows, in your eyes. You sometimes can't even see how the two of you are related.

You were taught history too, of course. The past. The present. Sometimes Prophet Velen would even tell you some things he saw. Not because you wanted to know, but because he trusted you. Mostly. But some things you learned. Some things you've SEEN. They're just...unimaginable. And not in a good way.

The pressure of being the "Heir to the throne of the Illidari" got to you. If that was even a thing. The Illidari has always treated itself like their own little kingdom. And your father was the founder and leader of that kingdom. You were pretty much surrounded by people with anger issues 24/7. So, you've learned a few lessons. Lesson #1? NEVER mention Tyrande Whisperwind or Malfurion Stormrage. Just don't. It's best to start a conversation without mention of them. Though, with your father, it somehow always leads back to Tyrande.

You were sitting on your bed, head in your hands. "Take a deep breath." You told yourself. "Deep breath..." Pressure has been all over you lately. You were almost 16. Meaning your father (and uncle, much to Illidan's dismay) have started trying to find a suitor for you. You were frustrated. You would find someone in due time. They knew that. But, you knew your father was only doing this to keep his bloodline running. You heard the loud slam of a door and a crashing noise.

"You broke my door again!" You shouted. You need not turn around to see who it was. "They'll make a new one." Said a gruff voice from behind. "Who'd you bring in this time? Another Rouge? Death Knight? Warrior?" You questioned.

"It's no one. Just wanted to see how you were doing." Said the hesitant voice that apparently belonged to your father.
You scoffed. "Right. You're never concerned about me. You trained me to be tough as a rock, remember? What do you want?" You questioned turning to face him.
"You're marrying the prince." He said. He looked at you. Full of...sorrow? No, no. Never sorrow. It was guilt.

"Anduin?" You asked. He nodded. "No. No. I have known him since we were infants. He is my brother! I will not marry him!" You shouted.
"You think I agreed to this?!" He yelled. You took a few steps back. Lesson #2? When your father shouts? Never shout back.
"The Alliance only has one heir. An heir who isn't married. And an heir who has no children." He said.
"No children? Father, he's 16!" You recoiled.
"King Greymane and I already made an agreement. You're getting married next week. And as King Anduin's partner, you will stay with him for the rest of your life. Or until he dies. Whichever comes first." He explained.

You couldn't believe this. You were marrying the one person close to your age, and he was basically your brother. You blinked back tears. This was too much. "What do you get out of this?" You asked.
"What?" He questioned.
"What do you get out of this agreement? You would never marry me off willingly, even if the person I'm marrying is Anduin. What. Do you. Want?" You interrogated.

He hesitated. You made good points. "I want you to be safe." He responded. Not fully sure of his answer. You scoffed. "Yeah. Sure. Safe. And being married to the king of a kingdom with many enemies is safe?!" You exclaimed. He was getting annoyed. "It's safe because you won't have demons chasing you! It's safe because you won't need to take your weapons out every single time you walk out the door!! It's safe because I'm not there!" He slammed his fist against the bookshelf in your room.

He looked at you. You must have looked horrid because the next thing you knew, your father kneels down and hugs you. He knew he was losing the one he loved most. He knew he would probably never see her again. He knew it was because of him. And he wasn't any more ready for the road ahead than you were. You started crying. He hugged you tighter. "I don't want to leave, An'da." You said between sobs.
"I know, dorei. I know."

A/N: Hellooo! Just needed to add a World of Warcraft one shot, cuz there aren't enough of these in the world :)
If you don't understand the lore, it's very complicated, and I don't wanna write a whole book on it, so please look it up lol. And no, King Anduin isn't actually married in the game (yet). I wanna see him in Dragonflight. I wanna know if he's ok. 🥲 That's all for today! Byeeeee!
