Chapter 1: High Tide Coming at You Live!

"What's up Inkopolis Shore! We're your hosts, High Tide! I'm Y/N!" You said as you had started the splatfest news for the night.

"I'm F/N1(one of the chosen names), your fave!" F/N said as they waved a hand in the air above the central tower in the middle, they stood to your left.

"And I'm obviously F/N2! You're MOST fave!" They said as they jumped up and put a fist in the air.

"And we're High Tide, coming at you up high in the sky with the current Splatfest news!" You all said in unison.

"Here are the current maps!" You said as the first map, Moray Towers, came up on the screen.

"So Y/N, what's your strategy for this map?" F/N2 asked you.

"It's honestly really simple!" You said as you crossed your arms.

"Well, what is it then?" F/N1 asked.

"Simple. I won't tell." You said as you closed your eyes and smirked.

After finishing the news, you guys got to performing, it was gonna be a LOOOOONG Splatfest, as it went on for three nights. As you performed, you saw a green parasol lengering in an alleyway. You didnt take your eyes completely off of the parasol for 3 hours up until your 15 minute break. As you guys hopped off the tower you landed in front of a resturaunt. F/N1 and F/N2 followed you.

As you walked into the resturaunt you saw the green parasol and made eye contact with the Inkling under it. "No squidding way!" You said to yourself.

"What?" F/N1 asked.

"Oh, uh, nothing." You said and quickly rushed off.

"Was thay actually her? Like was it ACTUALLY her? Why would MARIE be hanging out here? You said in your head. Your thoughts we whirring. She had been your girl crush for years, maybe you should go and talk to her? No. She wouldnt want to talk to a low project Idol like me. But...maybe she would, she interacted with Off the Hook and Deep Cut! Why wouldnt she talk to me? Mayhe High Tide can befriend the Squid Sisters? What if me and Marie-"

"Y/N WERE YOU LISTENING? HURRY UP AND ORDER A DRINK!!!" F/N2 said as they hit you with the menu.

"O-Oh, sorry! Right! One Swim Speed Up Shake please!" You asked as the waitress took your order.

"So, who was the parasol girl you made eye contact with?" Asked F/N1. "Was she pretty?" They continued.

"Oh uh, nobody we kniw, thats all." You saud nervously.

"Oh, but shes got you on the fritz now!" F/N2 said. "I mean look at you, youre blushing and stuttering and-"

"How do you know kt was a girl huh? They couldve been a boy. They couldve been non-binary!" You argued.

"She has a point!" F/N1 said.

The waitress came back with your drinks and took your orders. "Thank you!" You all said.

The rest of the stop was quick and soon you guys were leaving as you had 3 minutes of your break left. As you walkwd outside, people screamed and cheered and peopke waved at you. A snall green peice of paper fell and you picked it up. You looked over at the green parasol girl and smiled, she smiled back.

"Awesome..." You said as you turned to catch up with your group. "Guys! Wait up!"

After you made it back up to the stage, you updsted the news and started performing your solos. You performed yours first, it neing called "Starfish Constellation." It was a very calm song with a deep meaning. The dancing was also extremely calm, F/N1 and F/N2 being your backup dancers. You looked down at the Parasol girl and saw her rocking to your solo, along side another girl who had on a pink beanie. Instead of freaking out you stayed focused until break time.

"Oh my gosh did you guys hear! The Squid Sisters are here!" F/N2 excited out of nowhere.

"WHAT?!" You and F/N1 said. "I mean I KNOW I saw Marie but like-" You were cut off by F/N 1

"IF THEY'RE HERE THEN MAYBE DEEP CUT AND OFF THE HOOK WILL APPEAR TOO!" F/N2 said. They were a fan of Shiver and were practically in love with her.

"Wait, isn't Marie like 23?" F/N1 asked

"Well, Y/N IS 20 so its not Illegal nor would it be morally wrong. Now if Marie was 19 and Y/N was 16 THEN we'd have a problem." F/N2 said.

All of this talk about Marie and you had you blushing, daydreaming, and-

"Looks like you guys have some visitors!" Said your boss. She opened the door and you soul left your body.

"AHHHHH IT'S THE SQUID SISTERS!" You all screamed in Unison.

It was them. It was really them. They were at the door. They walked in and greeted you guys and asked a question you never thought you'd hear.

"Could we interest you in being agents 9, 10, and 11? You could help us! The Squidbeak Splatoon could use some help and well...the Great Zapfi-"

"Has been taken? Yeah. We reported on it. Hopefully another agent can get it." You said.

"Looks like someone does the research." Marie said. "Unlike somebody..." She said as she looked at Callie and smirked

"I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW I CAME OUTTA MY CLASSES WITH SOLID 77s!" Callie exclaimed.

"Anyway, what'd do you say? Yes. Perfect. Oh, and by the way, you kinda didn't have a choice. But after the Splatfest, meet us at that super suspicious drain, alright?" Marie said.

"Of course." F/N2 said.

"We've gotta bounce and you've gotta perform. We'll see you guys later!" Callie said, holding up a peace sign.

"Yeah, see you later!" Marie said, as she looked back at you and winked.

It's been a wild few months and now look at you, Agent 9 of the SquidBeak Splatoon. And the holder of your favorite idols number. What a Splatfest it's been, what a night it's been!

"Ugh! Y/N your team is winning!" F/N1 complained.

"Woohoo, go Team Chocolate! Chocolate Ice Cream dominates all!"(Though I personally Vanilla)

"Save it for the news man..." Said F/N 2. "I can't believe we're LOSING!"

"SAVE IT FOR THE NEWS!" You said mockingly.

"HAh, Team Vanilla is only behind by a point. Sucks to be Team Strawberry!" F/N1 said as they mocked F/N2.

"Shut up...AND THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE WINNING EITHER!" F/N1 argued back.

"Whatever, cmon. We've got a performance to do!" You said as you opened the door for you to leave.

Your mind started racing, the Squid Sisters were now front and center of the crowd, Marie had her phone out and it looked as if she was gonna start recording you guys, so you made sure that when she did, she'd record your greatest moments. The entire rest of the splatfest was amazing, even after it was over 2 nights later.

"Splatfest is O.V.E.R." F/N1 said.

"Let's just hope the RIGHT team won the Splatfest!" You said with a wink and a smirk.

"Yeah, results will be in soon!" F/N2 said.

"But for now, let's be patient and wait...no matter how long and torturous it may be." You said

"Now, here are the current maps!" F/N1 said.

After finishing the news, you headed to your room for a MUCH needed nap. As you laid down on your pillow you thought about the Splatfest and what had happened as you slowly drifted into the world of sleep.
