39. the fall

"it's funny, you two being single"

"They are under new management, will they be able to rise to the top once again. And still a badass name for a dojo, please welcome Cobra Kai!" Elena stood beside Miguel behind the curtain.

"I still can't believe you left Cobra Kai." Miguel spoke in a hushed breath, the pair still hadn't really talked despite the intense training they had in the last few days. "Yeah, well better believe it. I'm here."

Elena offered a small smile as they looked into each others eyes. "You guys are so gross." Devon spoke from behind Elena, who rolled her eyes, the two girls had gotten very close the last couple of days. Devon wanted to get better and Elena was the best.

Their sparing sessions the last two days were some of the best work Eagle Fang had to offer. Johnny couldn't say it but he knew their odds had increased much more with Elena coming back. Though he was a little iffy on her true intentions.

"And finally! This dojo is making their All Valley debut, though you'll recognize a few familiar faces. Every year, a new dojo rises up the ranks. Does this new comer have what it takes to win it all. Please welcome Eagle Fang Karate led by Sensei Johnny Lawrence and defending champion, Miguel Diaz!"

"And last years Last Woman Standing, favorite to win in the female devision, Elena Reed." The announcer yelled aloud as the crowd went wild in their cheers.

Elena's eyes stared ahead of her, a smirk on her face despite the fact that her heart was racing. They jogged past the other dojos to the front of the mat, Elena right beside Miguel, who squeezed her hand softly in his for comfort.

"At the end of the day, only one of these dojos can be crowned Grand Champion. Welcome to the 51st All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament."

The man laughed into the mic as everyone cheered, "It's karate time." Elena looked over at the Cobra Kai team, meeting Kenny's eyes, his gaze hardening as they met eyes. He obviously was upset with her for leaving.

Elena mouthed, "I'm sorry" but he rolled his eyes, shaking his head and going over to Robby, who sent Elena a nod. She lowered her head slightly but followed the Eagle Fangs over to their corner.

"Hey, you okay?" Elena looked over at Assface, whom she made up with in the last two days of training. "Yeah, just this whole last minute switching sides, my friends hate me."

That wasn't all the way true, her only real friends didn't hate her but she still felt like a traitor. "Don't worry about them. Cobra Kai's going down, they'll see why you changed your mind."
