Marinette's POV

My class is taking a trip to Gotham, after I won an essay contest by Bruce Wayne. We have just arrived in Gotham, and we're about to drop my classmates off at the hotel (I'm staying with Bruce Wayne himself at his manor). I'm picking my suitcase up from the baggage claim when I hear what sounds like an explosion.

I run towards the sound before skidding to a stop. A man in a purple suit with green hair jumps through the now shattered window. He turns to me. My memory of Gotham's villains tells me that this is Joker, one of the more dangerous of the bunch. Hopefully, his backup won't be coming soon.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" I smile at him. "I don't know, a better fashion sense?" He growls and gives me an insane grin before launching at me, a needle in his hand. I knock it away, punching him so hard he's rendered unconscious.

I guess I really don't want to deal with lawless lunatics today.

I pick him up, but not before tying his wrists and ankles with the measuring tape from my backpack. He still maintains that stupid crazy smile, even while knocked out. It's scary.

I carry him down to where the cops are. They stare at me, shocked.

"Here you are, officers. This is the real Joker. Unless it was just a dummy they used to scare me." They nod, still in shock, before loading his unconscious body into the back of a police car. I turn around, about to go back to my annoying class, when I bump into a hard chest.

"Excuse me." I move to step around him, but the man grabs my arm. I look up at him. Damian Wayne, alias Robin. He glares at me.

"Who are you? You cannot be a civilian if you defeated Joker on your own, yet your school and criminal record indicates no fighting skills." I glare at him, dragging him away from the officers. "I am not like you, Damian Al Ghul Wayne, if that's what you're asking. My past and present is much worse." I state.

He stares at me, shocked I know his identity and history with the League. I start to walk away, before lookinh back at him. "I'll tell you and the rest of your family when I get to your Manor. The whole reason I came here was to ask for your family's help." I turn away, walking to the airport.

A Few Hours Later...

I'm standing outside Wayne Manor. I took the motorcycle I rented, instead of asking for a driver. I'm about to knock when the door opens. An elderly gentleman pulls me inside. He hangs my coat up for me and takes my suitcase while introducing himself as Alfred, the family butler. He leads me to the dining room, where they are having dinner. I hear shouts, clanging, and what sounds like...an explosion? I turn to Alfred for an explanation, but he just sighs.

He pushes open the door, and the entire family turns to stare at me from their various positions on the floor (apart from Bruce and Selina. They were sitting at the table, looking done with their lives).

The Waynes get up, embarrassed, as I hide my laughter. Finally, I lose control.

"Sorry, sorry. You guys just aren't the like the other billionaires I've met before. So uptight, in public and private." They stare at me before I realize my mistake. "I have met Style Queen. She's my best friend's mom. Anyway, can we start the introductions?" The first is a blonde with chocolate brown eyes.

"Hi! My name is Stephanie, call me Steph." Jason, Tim, Dick, Selina, and Bruce introduce theirselves before it's Damian's turn. "Damian Wayne." I smile at them. "My name is Marinette, call me Nettie. If you can, please avoid calling me 'princess' or 'm'lady.' Also, I know your identities."

They nod, before processing my last sentence. "We can't be the Batfamily, nooo!" And other variations of that. I smirk as Damian facepalms. "She didn't even say that specifically, imbeciles! Now you have confirmed it!"

I say, "Anyway, I came to ask for your help. Paris has a supervillain, and I am part of a magic-wielding team that fights him. He destroys Paris through the mind control of other people, so it is difficult to find suspects. However, I do have a few, including a former teammate's father. I need you to figure out who it is." Bruce speaks up. "Do you have any evidence that this is a real threat?" I toss him a flashdrive.

"That has names of every Akumatized civilian known to the public, and a few not. Their identities were not included to protect their privacy, but I know them."

He nods. "How are you doing after that incident with the Joker?"

I smile at him. "Nothing to worry about! It was easier than taking down an Akuma." Alfred takes my plate to the kitchen and brings me to my bedroom. I do my nightly routine before falling asleep under the covers.

Damian's POV

A couple hours after lights out, I hear a scream. Sobs echo down the hall. All of us peek out of our doors, before we simultaneously start to walk to Dupain-Cheng's bedroom. The door is open, and we see the sheets are tangled around her writhing body.

She yells, "Chat Noire! Adrien! Don't do this!" Tears flow down her cheeks as she sits straight up. We all crowd around to sit on her bed. Grayson speaks first. "Wanna tell us what that was about, kiddo?" She flinches and shakes her head, scooting away from us until her back hits the headboard.

The tears are still flowing as she turns her head to the side. "Go back to your rooms. I have my own problems, you all have yours." They all sigh. "No." Todd says. "We're not leaving you alone."

She groans. "Argh, then fine. You may sleep on my bed." We all nod, before laying down. One by one, my brothers and sister start to snore.

My eyes begin to feel heavy, and I fall asleep to the sensation of fingers combing through my hair.
