Marinette's POV

Adrien and Kagami told me not to get in trouble on my first day (mainly Kagami, but Adrien doesn't want to be facing the end of her sword. Weak), and what do I do? Get in trouble.

I nearly roll my eyes at the cliché. New girl with a past gets bullied by the 'Popular Girl' of the school.

"Jeez Louise, Lila! Take a chill pill! I wasn't staring at your boyfriend." She glares at me angrily before yelling in a high pitched voice, "You were definitely staring at my snookums wookums! And you will pay for that!" Then she punches me in the stomach.

All I can see is red, but I manage to calm down with breathing exercises Luka taught me. I fake wince, pretending to slide down the wall in pain as Lila smirks at me.

The bell rings, and everyone goes to their classes.

Except one kid.

The epitome of 'Bad Boy' (with a capital B), he stares at me intensely with jade green eyes. He has a defined jawline and wears a leather jacket, like me. Except his has an image of a bat on the back.

I do a quick mental inventory. The bruise from yesterday's fight throbs, but Lila barely punches hard enough to hurt anyone. Honestly.

She's going to break her hand one day with a form like that. And I will be there to witness it.

Also, who calls their boyfriend 'snookums wookums' or whatever the flying fuck she said? An annoying lil' shit, that's who.

I sigh, shaking my head at the thought before standing up normally. I open my locker, grabbing all the necessary books. Suddenly, I can feel a presence behind me. I turn around, glaring at whoever it is, before noticing that it's the boy from earlier.

"Hello Tall, Dark, and Handsome. What do you want?" I deadpan.
He looks at me weirdly before asking, "Why are you not in pain right now?" I simply shrug.

"She doesn't punch hard enough to hurt me. Now, leave me alone." I slam my locker door, brushing past him on my way to class.
