Chase POV

Ryder told us that he was gonna be with Y/n, because she was feeling down and then left. Now I had time to look through three clues we already had. I felt like I missed something important, but I couldn't pin-point what it was. Maybe if I looked through Ryder's room I could find more clues or something. I thought. I went upstairs and to Ryder's room. Should I really do this? I opened the door anyway. I was glad that Ryder taught me something like that but nothing could prepare me for what I saw there: it looked normal but there were pictures of Y/n pinned to the wall. Lots of pictures. Above his bedside table was a knife in the wall and a necklace was hanging on the handle. A upside down cross. Just like the surviving victims described it. Could Ryder be? No, he wouldn't do something like this. He wouldn't harm a fly or even go out and kill people. But what if he was? I quickly closed the door but I stayed in the room. I remembered the phone call from this morning. It sounded like Ryder was talking to his parents. Something didn't add up. Why would Ryder have pictures of Y/n and her schedule pinned to his walls? Why did he pin a knife to the wall? Why does he have the exact same necklace as the murderer? I left his room, confused on what I had seen in there. "It makes no sense..." I mumbled. "What doesn't make sense?" Rubble heard me. Shoot. "I was just thinking about all the incidents that keep happening." "Okay? Do you have any idea who could be so cruel to do this?" "No Rubble. Me and Ryder are trying, but we can't figure out who the murderer is." I lay down and thought about everything. "I really have no clue on who it is but if the murderer is someone we know and trust..." "What are you implying Chase?" "I am saying that it could be anyone. But I have a suspect."

Narrator POV

Ryder parked his ATV in the garage and then went to his puppies. "I am back!" He announced and Zuma came running up to him. "Where have you been, Ryder?" "I was with Y/n" Ryder answered truthfully. He had just cheered you up and now he knew that you liked motorcycles and can drive them. Skye gasped, "On a date?!" "No, not on a date. Y/n was feeling down and called me. We just spend some time and I bought her ice-cream." "And you tell me that it was not a date?!" Skye was a bit confused. To her, you and Ryder would be such a cute couple. "It really wasn't." Ryder said and then his phone rang; "Jake! What's up?" "Ryder, Everest wanted to ask if she can stay with you overnight." "I mean, I don't see why not. But what about you?" "That's my next question: do you have a guest room?" Ryder quickly thought of something. He did have a guest room but he would need to explain why he was showering at nighttime. "Yeah we do. You could stay in the guest room. But I have a habit of showering at nighttime." "You what?" While Ryder and Jake were talking Chase thought of possible reasons for Ryders habit. He smelled faintly like you, wich was probably from the time you spent together. Showering at night? Probably because he didn't have time when the sun is up. That seemed reasonable, since most of the emergencies happened at daytime. Later that evening, when Everest and Jake arrived, Everest and Skye immediately greeted each other. Jake followed Ryder upstairs and after he had settled in, he found Ryder making sketches of something while humming a melody. "Hey dude, what ya doing there?" "Making a sketch. As you should know, me and Chase are trying to find the killer. I have a few descriptions from the victims that survived and now I am trying to draw the culprit." "Can I see?" "Sure, why not?" Ryder said and handed Jake the sketch:

"Are they sure that this thing hurt them?" "Jake, they swore on their live that this was what they saw

"Are they sure that this thing hurt them?" "Jake, they swore on their live that this was what they saw." "Lol? I always thought the grim reaper is just fiction." Ryder was suddenly silent. "What?" Jake asked. "I thought that too. But they all told me the same thing. The police didn't believe it and left that case in our hands." "But-" Jake cut himself off. "But what?" Ryder asked. "Nothing. I just need a moment to sort my thoughts." Chase eavesdropped on their conversation and then snuck away. Now he wasn't sure what to think. Jake sounded like he knew something and Ryder had these pictures of Y/n and the murderer's necklace. I can't trust them. They are now both officially suspects. Chase thought as he went back outside to play with the others.
