They opened the door to Ryders room and found him sitting on his bed and making a sketch. „Are you okay Ryder?" „Why wouldn't I be?" Jake told the puppies to wait outside and he and Chase would talk with Ryder. They left and Ryder got down from his bed and casually walked to his desk and placed the sketchbook there. „What did you want to talk about?" „I think it is time you tell them Ryder." „Tell us what?" Chase was genuinely confused. Ryder was silent and he didn't say anything, not even when Chase listed his reason for suspecting Ryder to be the culprit. „And now I don't know how to trust you anymore, because the leader of the people patrol might be a criminal!" he yelled at Ryder with tears in his eyes. „Chase, I don't think you understand the situation", Ryder said slowly. He turned away from his desk and leaned against it. „You have no idea how much I am going through. How confused I am on who I should be. The only thing I know for sure is how I feel towards the one person that keeps me sane!" „Ryder... be honest with me. Did you find it?" Jake asked him, but he couldn't have imagined the answer Ryder gave him. „What do you think Jake?" Ryder asked and let a scythe appear in his hand. „Couldn't do that a few weeks ago" he added. „So you are the murderer!" „Chase." „Why?!" „Chase stop." „How could you do something like this?!" „Chase shut the fuck up!" One of the bony spikes emerged from the ground and stopped a few centimeters in front of Chases throat. Ryders eyes simultaneously turned red:

Ryder POV I heard Alastors laugh in the back of my mind. He nearly killed Chase, because I let him take over. You see? I am getting stronger. „C-Chase I...I am s-sorry..." I said and I meant it. „You have explaining to do." Chase said and Jake came to my side. „I know you didn't want to do that." Jake calmly said but I knew that, even if he trusts me, Alastor was too powerful.
Your POV
I eavesdropped on Ryders conversations, thanks to a little microphone that I attached to his sleeve shirt yesterday. "Hey, Y/n. Shouldn't you be at work right now?" "No. It is my day off. And now get the hell out of my room I am playing Minecraft!" I shouted. I put my headphones on and continued to listen to Ryder talking to his parents. After a while I heard how Ryder yelled at Chase to shut up. I stopped eavesdropping and left my room. "Katie, can you lend me your car?" "Why?" "Just give me the keys." I said while putting on my shoes and jacket. Katie tossed the keys in my direction, I caught them and rushed to her car. Ryder was probably feeling extremely pressured and I couldn't stand seeing him like this.
Narrator POV
Once you arrived, you found Ryder and his puppies outside. "Ryder!" You yelled and he came running to you. He hugged you tightly and hurried his face in the hollow of your neck. "Shh...I know you're scared..." you said and you told him that you already knew about his little......secret. "Y-You do?" he asked you. In his eyes, you could see that he was truly sorry and that he didn't have control over it. The next words were hard for you to say, especially since Ryder was the murderer but you just had to. There was no way to deny it but the fact that Ryder was cursed would make things worse if you lied to him right now. "Listen, I still love you. I don't care if you are the culprit, but...please at least try and get rid of it." You said, hoping that it would cheer Ryder up somehow. "Did we miss something?" Rockey asked. "Apparently..." Rubble said but they were too far away to her your conversation with Ryder. "But how did you know?" Ryder kinda wanted to know, but he was mainly relieved that you still loved him. "What can I say? We all have our secrets." You smirked and Ryder suddenly pulled you closer. You folded your hands around his neck and kissed him. Ryder gladly answered that kiss, as you were one of the two people that still trusted him (the puppies not included). "Okay we clearly missed something." Everest said and Skye agreed. "I guess we all did." Jake was just as surprised as them but they all agreed on one thing: "We have to help Ryder get rid of this curse." Marshalls voice was confident but he knew as well as the others that this was not going to be easy. "You are right Marshall." Zuma, Rockey and Jake couldn't disagree. And it was settled: no matter what happened, they'd help Ryder.
