"Oh, Jennie!"
Jennie turned just in time to see a flash of honey blonde hair before she was wrapped in surprisingly strong arms. She groaned, realizing that her face was pressed directly into Chahee's breasts.
"Chahee," Jennie mumbled, voice muffled by Chahee's body. "I can't breathe."
Chahee pulled away and held Jennie at arms length, hands on Jennie's biceps. Her face was twisted in concern, a frown on her face as she looked Jennie over. "Are you okay?"
Jennie sniffled, face still red from the tears she'd cried just before she got to work. "I'm okay."
"You don't look okay," Chahee pouted and pulled Jennie into another hug. "I'm so sorry but I'm also so proud of you for following your heart."
Jennie just let herself relax into Chahee's arms and hugged her back. The breakup had only been the night before, and it hurt more than she expected. Even though she knew it was better this way, she had still been with Mino for two years. She did a lot of growing with him, and even if they weren't meant to be together she was going to miss him. All night she'd been crying into her pillow while Jisoo awkwardly tried to bring her food and water, eventually settling on just holding her.
With Lisa leaving and breaking up with Mino, Jennie wondered if her heart would ever recover.
"Thanks," Jennie sniffed again. "It definitely doesn't feel great."
"I know," Chahee said as she let go of Jennie and let her sit back at the bar, joining her on the next stool. "But I promise it's for the best. Do you need help with anything? Cancelling anything?"
"No, Mino's assistant is going to do it," Jennie mumbled before slouching again. "I could have had an assistant."
"Yeah, it must be love if you're giving up that kinda money," Chahee smirked.
Jennie chuckled. "It's fine. I don't think I was meant for the life of luxury. Makes me feel weird."
"Speak for yourself," Chahee said.
The bar to Sandy's opened and Jennie looked up to see Sheriff Lee walking in. He took his hat off his head, holding it to his chest as he looked around like he did every time he entered a room. His eyes landed directly on Jennie and she immediately knew something was wrong.
Her brain in a panic, she made a note of where Dara was. She was safe, she was downstairs doing inventory. Jisoo? She looked towards the stairs and Jisoo was trudging down at that moment. A little at ease, Jennie spun in her stool so she could face him as he approached.
"Sheriff," she said as she nodded her head in greeting.
"Ms. Kim," Lee's mustache twitched and he looked over at Chahee, a small warm smile spreading over his face for a moment before he turned back to Jennie, neutral expression sliding back into place. "I'm gonna have to ask you to come down to the hospital with me."
"What? Why?" Jennie asked as Jisoo walked up, eyeing Lee warily. She sat on the stool on the other side of him and he glanced at her with a grunt. Jennie, nerves on edge as she braced for bad news, tried to get his attention again. "Lee?"
He looked back at her, brow furrowing. "We have a Pranpriya Manoban at the hospital. She keeps asking for you and Jisoo."
"Pranpriya Manoban?" Jennie frowned.
"She has no ID on her and I couldn't get a name out of her before she passed out," Lee said. "She has red hair-"
Jennie was off her stool before he could finish his sentence, leaning over the bar and getting her bag and jacket. The only thing on her mind was getting to the hospital. She caught Jisoo's eyes, wide and worried.
