Madison's POV:
For a second, I don't do anything. I just... stare at this person who had roughly shoved Jett into a bookshelf and crossed their arms.
"Sorry, um-I didn't know that anyone was here-" they scoff and step around Jett to get a closer look at my face. They smile, a kind smile too.
"Yeah right. Anyone with hearing could've heard what was going on. Eavesdropping is bad y'know."
Nothing.
"I'll just be on my way then..." I start to say, but then Jett - the person that I had originally planned the car joke on - had given me an expression that begged for help. So of course I gave in.
"He-Jett, didn't ruin your car. I did." Now they stare at me, with no trace of anger left. But disbelief was written on their face.
"Say that again?" I give an uncomfortable shrug and repeat myself,
"I wrecked your car. On accident, actually it was supposed to be his car." I motion to Jett, who was now walking towards the library exit. "So sorry. I'll redo everything that I did."
"Already hate me and you don't even know my name." Laughing, the boy adds, "it's Greg. Greg Hart."
"C-cool, mine's Madison-Maddie for short." I was nervous because this person didn't seem irked at the fact that I played an idiotic joke on them by mistake.
Little did I know that-that mistake, would change my life.
