Abiha's POV

The whole floor was busting with noises, but my arrival halted everyone. Why wouldn't they, I am their boss. They feared me but most of all they respected me.

Not giving a second glance I went inside my office where my PA stood with today's schedule.

"Good morning ma'am", said Hannah my PA. I replied to her and started with my work.

After six years of hardship, I can proudly say I am one of the best lawyers of New York.

Life has been good so far and I am planning to keep it that way. Busy morning, meeting during lunch, a cheerful evening and a relaxed night.

Last week I won one of the most troubled cases and now the workload is a lot less. I would be lying if I said I don't miss home. I do, but sometimes I think my peaceful life is better than some drama. I am now a self made billionaire. A little help from maybe my father's money that he left behind. Other than that, everything is my achievement.

After working non-stop for the whole day I finally went home. After browsing my pending email, I came across a familiar name Humza, my phupo's son the only one I was in contact with and that too from the last three months.

His email was sent almost a month ago. As soon as  I opened the email, I nearly got a heart attack.

Abiha I am gonna make this short and simple. Me and Meerab are getting married on the 17th next month. Your cousin Meerab is gonna be elated if you join our wedding. Please, i am begging you yaar come to our wedding

Your lovely cousin
Humza

Meerab and Humza! These two, seriously? Meerab used to be so afraid of Humza Bhai.

An amused smiled came into my face. Ah!! Seems it finally time to face everyone.

The wedding is in six days. Gosh!! Dialling my PA's no. I said, "Cancel all my meeting for the next two weeks and book  the next plane ticket for Pakistan".

Author's POV

"Ammi! Bhai is irritating me", complained Meerab to Tooba.

"Why are you troubling my princess?", asked Tooba twisting her second oldest sons ear.

"Ah ammi it hurts", he said wincing.

Maryam only shook her head smiling. This was a regular thing in Khan Mansion. The Twins came down racing and sat on their table gulping their food like starved animals. One glare of their mother and they stilled. Giving a sleepy smile they started eating a bit slowly.

"Ammi, I can't find my shoes", said Maheen running down the stairs.

"Sweetheart the function is in the evening, you can search for it the whole day, now complete your breakfast" said Maryam to her dramatic daughter.

"Where's Taimur?", asked Tooba only to get a reply from her monkey son, 'probably with his love aka laptop' to with she shook her head.

"Assalam alaikum", resonated a deep voice in the hallway. There stood Taimur Akram Khan in all his glory.

"Finally you thought to give us sometimes as well", said Tooba.

Midway during breakfast, Meerab strictly told her eldest brother ( Taimur) not to do any work coz according to her and I quote , " I am your only sister and today's my haldi".

After breakfast everyone got busy with work. The house was filled with laughter and noise.

***Evening time***

"My daughter is so grown up", said Tooba  with teary eyes.

"Mom you will make me cry as well", said Meerab.

"Okay fine, let's begin with with Haldi", said Tooba.

Soon the atmosphere was back to cheerful. The haldi ceremony began and was going in full blast. The aunties were all busy gossiping, the uncles were also busy in their own world aka news and politics while the yonsters were having the time of their life. Some were all over the food counter, some busy taking selfie, some teasing the would be bride.

Meerab looked at her surrounding once. She was honestly happy for being able to marry someone she knew loved her but amidst everything, she was missing someone. Someone who promised to be by her side during this time. Someone she hasn't seen in a while. She wondered how she was doing. She didn't even knew where she was. She had a sad smile.

"I wish you knew I am getting married Abiha", she whispered.

Taimur's POV

I was busy with all the arrangements when I noticed Meerab alone in the stage. She looked happy but still her eyes held sadness and longing. I went towards her and heard what she whispered. She was missing Abiha. I wish she was here as well.

I sat beside her and gave her a small smile. She smiled back and hug me.

Suddenly the lights went out. Everyone stilled in there places. The sound on someone's heal was heard. And as soon as the light came back a gasped came out from Meerab's mouth.

I followed the way Meerab was looking, my heart stopped and then started beating really fast.

"You really thought I would miss your wedding idiot", she said smirking.

It was the girl I unknowingly gave my heart 'My Abiha'.
