Fluttering hearts

"Just 5 more minutes tayi ammi", shouted Maheen.

"You have been saying this for the past 15 minutes now", yelled Ibrahim.

Everyone was waiting for the girls who were hell bent on irritating the males of the house.

Soon the clicking of heels were heard followed by the bride who had a glow on her face.Maheen was walking beside Meerab while Abiha was hidden by the two girls in front of her. As soon as Abiha came forward Maryam gasped whispering a quick 'Masha Allah' while Taimur forgot everything, his eyes were only focused on her. Tooba was busy praising Meerab while someone else's heart also skipped seeing Maheen who looked like a bomb. Rubana had tears in eyes seeing the three younger female versions of her son. She was immensely proud of her granddaughters.

The function was taking place in the garden. It was a ladies function where only the ladies and their house males were present looking after the arrangements. Meerab was made to sit on the stage were the henna artist were quick to start their work.

After 3 hours almost all ladies had applied henna. Abiha was feeding the bride as Tooba was busy looking after the guests. Maheen was already in her room after getting tired and was fed by her mother over there. The twins were gossiping with their other cousins. Ibrahim was sitting beside Abiha occasionally joking with them while Taimur sat opposite to them.

"Abiha baccha(baby), go and apply henna, the henna artists are almost done", exclaimed Tooba noticing her blank hand to which Abiha shook her head.Taimur frowned, he knew how much she used to be crazy for henna.

"I have a very important meeting in half an hour tayi ammi besides I am fine like this ", Abiha said.

"Nonsense, Ibrahim or Taimur will help you with the meeting", tooba said.

"Tayi ammi leave it na, I don't like it anymore anyways, priorities change with time and right now my work is my top priority", she replied.

Seeing Abiha firm on her decision Tooba didn't force her anymore. She was changed so much Tooba thought.

Soon Abiha went inside busy with her meeting, after an hours she came back looked tired as hell. She sat beside Ibrahim keeping her head on his shoulder with him patting her head occasionally.

"Tired?", he asked to which she nodded.

Yaar, I am hungry whispered Abiha. Ibrahim smiled seeing this. They used to be so close, Ibrahim although older than Abiha,was always the childish one but now he himself has changed in those years. Looking at Abiha tried, he went and got a plate with all sort of dishes.

Seeing Ibrahim coming with food made her smile to widen. She hurriedly took the plate and started eating , sometimes feeding him as well since the food was too much for her own self.

Watching Abiha comfortable with Ibrahim and joking around bothered Taimur. Even if Ibrahim was his own brother, he didn't like their closeness towards eachother. On top of that she was feeding him . Feeding used to be 'their thing' and seeing her do that didn't sit well with him.

He wanted to make his brother disappear that moment. His jaw clenched more seeing Abiha whispered something to Ibrahim.

Soon Hamza came and was made to sit beside Meerab. Huzaifa was announcing the first team to dance who were Maryam, Aina and Tooba. Next was Maheen who danced on 'Banno re banno mere', tearing Meerab. Huzaifa along with the twins danced on 'chammak challo'.

"Ok so next is Ibrahim Bhai and Abiha aapi on the song ishq wala love", announced Huzaifa shocking everyone.

And as soon as they started dancing everyone started cheering loudly. They were giving a bollywood performance, the twins were whistling. Taimur didn't like the way both were touching each other while dancing. His hand were fisted and he was breathing heavily. At the end Ibrahim lifts Abiha earnings cheers from everyone unknown to the fact that his own brother was planning to murder him.
