PROLOGUE

Ten years ago

A young girl was lying unconscious next to even younger boys. They were in a coven, surrounded by three wolves and a witch.

"Start the memory wiping,"Alpha Banks, an up-and-coming powerful wolf, sneered.
"This spell is going to take time," the witch muttered as she kneeled over them, dark smoke erupting from her palm. "They cannot interrupt me. Is that going to be a problem?"

"No. They're weak for now. They still need to be conditioned."

The witch nodded and began waving circles over the sleeping children. The thirteen-year-old girl began twitching, and her breaths deepened, making the woman's brows furrow.

The wolves watched carefully.

The white-haired girl gripped the frayed blanket they lay on, her veins slowly but surely turning a bright-golden color. Her eyes lit up beyond her thin eyelids before an ear-piercing scream shook the room. Pure pain radiated from the cry as the black wisps tried to enter her mind.

"What the he—" The witch was interrupted as power exploded from the girl.

All of the adults were thrown back against the cave walls. One of the wolves smacked his head so hard that it immediately killed him.

The young girl awoke with a start. Her clouded eyes immediately found her little brothers stirring. "Get up!" she barked, shaking their limp wrists.

They did not move, and she cried hard, pulling their dead weight as much as she could.

"Please!" she wailed, pleading for her brothers to wake up, before she was suddenly smashed into the ground by the alpha who had captured her.

"Daddy, help!" she sobbed, the left side of her face being pressed so hard into the ground that she could not see.

"Daddy's not here to save you, brat!" the menacing voice sneered. "Get the brand!"
Even though she did not have the slightest clue what the brand was or did, the witch knew she did not want it.

"No! No, please! Daddy! Mommy! Please help!"

Her parents did not save her from the searing pain, nor did the evil witch stop taking away that memory imprinted in her brain.

CHAPTER ONE

"C'mon!" Elora yelled over the grunts of her brothers. She shot at them endlessly and watched them block or evade.
She was shooting yellow balls of energy toward them, hoping they would be able to maneuver away. They were in a clearing far from the pack to avoid disturbing them.

She watched the older of the two boys, Malakai, drop to roll in the mud. He stood at six foot four and had brown skin and beefed-up muscles.
