Elora shot up from sleep when she felt the familiar warmth leave her.In her mind without the warmth she was back in the pack. Cold inside and out, helpless.
She breathed heavily before glancing up and seeing a half dressed Demetrius coming towards the bed.
He furrowed his brow as he quickly drew her into his arms. Elora whimpered and dug her face into his neck, he cooed quietly and scratched her scalp gently.
"Nightmare?"
She ran her hand down up and down his large arms. Noting each and every scar before sitting up to do the same with his chiseled chest.
Slowly she nodded as she brushed every dip or raise of his skin.
"I get them too," Elora glanced up quickly. She didn't know much about Demetrius's past. They hadn't gotten time to talk about it but she knew they would soon.
"I was back there. Stuck," Her voice was meek as she muttered and kissed above his collarbone. He shivered just slightly.
"I have to meet with Elio. We're forcing more integrated patrols so the tension eases."
Elora nodded in response, "that could go decent or terribly, terribly wrong."
He chuckled deeply and nodded.
"Do you need me?"
"In what sense?" Demetri smirked and she her my cheeks heat up.
"No, we just have to assign teams," he laughed against her hair. "Just stay safe."
Elora hummed and trailed her fingers over his ribs. She looked up and pecked his lips slowly.
He groaned and pressed forward.
"Where'd you put my glasses?" The witch spoke against his lips. He pulled away abruptly.
"Why?"
"Because I want them." She paused and rolled her eyes, "I don't need to hide them from you. They just make me more comfortable. I won't wear them at home."
He pursed his lips for a moment. He nodded and she kissed his nose quickly.
Her legs slithered around his waist and tightened them as he stood. He walked to the closet and reached to the very top shelf and gripped her glasses. She smiled and gripped them before pushing them on top of her head
He set her on their bureau.
"Demetrius?"
"Yes Elora?" He replied with his eyes closed as he bent to press his ear against my heartbeat. She knew he heard it pick up just a little bit.
"What... what do you get nightmares about?"
Demetri inhaled sharply and thread her fingers through his growing hair. It almost hung in his face now.
"My parents were killed when I was a boy. My father had hidden me away, but not in a place where I couldn't hear it."
She gasped and tightened her hold on him.
"How old were you?" His mate choked out.
"Twelve," he muttered. "My nightmares are never images. It's just the sound of them being slaughtered. I hadn't slept in a very long time before I found you."
Elora stayed silent at the new information. She knew there was more, about how he got to the place he was. Who had slaughtered his parents? And were they avenged?
"You make me happy," he breathed out. Her heart practically leapt out of her chest. She wrapped both arms around his head and held him to her chest.
"You make me happy too," Her voice cracked. "So happy."
She didn't know how one person could bring her so much joy. He made her content and safe. Demetrius Bordoa, possibly the most intimidating man on the planet made her feel safe.
She glanced at the clock, "You have to leave soon."
Elora rubbed his back and pushed against him so she could stand. He groaned in annoyance as he started pressing wet, fast kisses down her neck.
A quiet moan fell from her before hitting his chest and reaching for the shirt he never put on.
She shoved it over his head abruptly and when his eyes popped out of the hole he gave her the stink eye.
Elora giggled and pecked his jaw. Demetrius finished dressing himself and reached around to give her ass a tight squeeze.
"Behave," he growled lowly as he got ready to depart.
"How 'bout you take your own advice?"
"I'm not the crazy half of this relationship."
"That's utter bullshit! You rip people apart! Is it sexy? Yes- hm okay maybe I'm a little crazy. Whatever, you're not sane either." She huffed and stomped her foot a little.
"Yes, dear." A firm kiss was pressed to Elora's lips and a panty dropping smile appeared. She squeezed his bicep as he exited the room and sighed dreamily.
After she snapped herself out of it she explored their closet. She had found a multitude of clothes. The witch was unaware Demetrius had collected outfits for me. She rose a brow as a drawer in as dedicated to pants.
She can't say she remembers a time she wore pants for longer than an hour
And that was when she stole shorts from Lucas.
Elora had always worn dresses. She trained in dresses, she fought in dresses. The two slits up the side for mobility and accuracy.
She stared at the drawer before closing it. Another day.
She grabbed a knee length dress that was yellow. Elora scrunched her nose at the thought of her eye color but sighed anyway. It was slipped on as well as her glasses.
The sleeves reached her wrists and she tugged them up just a bit.
She huffed and climbed the stairs to go outside, not before grabbing an apple.
