As we headed on our weekly bar crawl, I felt myself leaving Ella's flat very tipsy. Me, Imogen and Mia linked arms, before shoving each other into the back of our Uber, chewing the poor taxi drivers ear off.
We arrived at our first bar and split up into small groups to buy drinks at the bar. I bought my first round, reaching for the two green shots and swallowing them, followed by a Jägerbomb. I shook my head in disgust as the taste hit the back of my throat.
I walked away with my blue VK and Vodka and lemonade mixer in hand to go and dance with the rest of the girls.
As the evening went on, the girls began to get progressively drunker and drunker. This was on of the best socials I'd been on so far, everyone was dancing like a lunatic, had huge smiles plastered on their faces and were having fun together.
We walked across to the final bar on our bar crawl and spent some time dancing together, before we headed to the main nightclub at 12am. All sports teams went on the same bar crawl every Wednesday night, our teams were all sponsored by the bars, which meant reduced drinks. We would go to two bars and spend a few hours in each one before heading to the main nightclub at 12am.
Our groups had mixed and mingled. Some of the rugby team had disappeared, some had joined the football girls group and some of the football group had mingled and mixed into our group. We were dancing together when Mia tapped me on my shoulder, daring me to snort my drink.
I grabbed a straw from the bar and put it up my nose, snorting the Vodka and orange drink before snorting it back out a second later as I coughed on it. Mia and Imogen laughed loudly, their phone torch shining brightly as they recorded me, no doubt posting it on their social media.
The nightclub lights flashed as hundreds of people lined the dance floor, dancing to the loud music. I felt someone bump into the back of me. I turned around slowly to see Erling. I looked up at him in shock.
"What are you doing here?" I shouted at him over the music. I completely turned around, putting my back to Mia and Imogen. He didn't hear me, so he crouched down to reach my height, I stood on my tiptoes to meet him.
"What are you doing here?" I repeated, just as confused. He nodded his head at a group which were stood not too far from us in the distance, I looked over to see a group of boys dressed in suits, I recognised their theme of the week, it was the men's football team.
"I know some of the boys off the football team, it's one of their birthdays so I came out for a drink," He explained as he turned his head back to look me in the eyes. I smelt his aftershave as he did, it was strong and completely filled my nose, he smelt really good.
I nodded my head in understanding as I look at him. I don't think I've ever actually been this close to him before.
"Just one drink?" I questioned as I looked back up at him in surprise. I watched as he laughed, smiling down at me. He stood back up to his full height, ruffling my hair before he walked back to the group he was with.
I watched as he pushed through the crowd with ease and stood back with the group he had told me he was with. I turned back around to face Mia and Imogen, who were oblivious to our encounter, as they sang along to the song that was playing.
He shook hands with one of the boys, pulling them into a hug, as they passed him his drink in a black plastic cup. I saw that he looked back in my direction, making very brief eye contact as I continued to look at him, before looking away just as quickly, taking a sip of his drink.
I stared at him for a few moments longer before I shook my head, baffled at the fact that he was actually here before I turned back to my friends and carried on dancing with them, finally breaking my gaze.
