"All clean" Aonung sighs.
"How do I look?" I ask.
"It looks pretty rough, but you'll survive" Aonung says.
"Thanks".
I wasn't going to act like nothing happened.
"Are you going to tell me what just happened?" I begin.
"What was Rotxo talking about?" I demand.
"It's not important Y/N" He grunts.
"I want to know, it must have been important" I say in anger. Grabbing his arm to stop him from looking away.
"Don't ignore me" I complained.
He stares into my eyes, he looks.. sad.
"I can't tell you, please forget about it" Aonung whispered.
"And how am I supposed to explain my nose to my family?" I remember.
"I'll take the blame for it, they already hate me!" Aonung stammered.
"No.. we'll figure something out.. But if your not going to tell me, i'll go ask Rotxo" I decide, standing up and heading away from Aonung.
Aonung hurries after me, gripping my arm with force.
"Let go" I command.
"You don't want to know, trust me. Whatever he tells you, know I regret it deeply" Aonung whimpers.
I pull his hand off of my arm and walk away, Aonung follows me again. He only gives up when seeing Loak and Neteyam standing near by. I can hear him swear under his breath.
I walk up to my brothers,
"Have you guys seen Rotxo?" I ask.
They look at me with worry, my nose. By now it had to of been bruised.
"What the hell happened to you?" Loak wondered.
I quickly think of a lie.
"I tripped on a rock and fell nose first.." I respond.
"I don't believe that for a second" Neteyam observed.
"I don't know what to tell you, it's the truth" I shrug.
Neteyam gives me a look of disbelief, but Loak moves on.
"What do you need Rotxo for?" Loak asks.
"Just tell me if you've seen him around" I snapped.
"I think I saw him with a group of guys just over there" Neteyam hesitates.
"Thanks" Is all I say before heading off in the direction Neteyam pointed to. My brothers look at each other in confusion.
I run up to Rotxo and grab him by the shoulder, turning him around.
"Finish what you were going to say" I demand.
"What?" He asks.
"Tell me what you were going to say before- before Aonung punched you." I stutter, his friends smirk at each other.
"Oh yea" Rotxo laughs.
"You sure you wanna know?" Rotxo asks.
"Just tell me" I say, frustrated.
"Fine.. That night you stormed off, my friends and I said we'd stop teasing him if he could trick you into falling for him in less than a week, you must have been desperate because it was a success." Rotxo chuckles until seeing my face. what?
I don't reply, only stepping backwards, feeling that familiar knot in my throat I turn away and head off, tears immediately streaming down my face. That explained why he apologized, I knew it sounded off.
I run further into the jungle before falling to the ground near a tree root, I try wiping my tears away but they keep coming. The feeling of betrayal stabbing me like a knife. Everything I did with him was, fake? My ears twitch up, I hear someone running in my direction, Aonung?
"Y/N! Where did you go?" They yell
Neteyam.
He finds me curled up soon after, rushing next to me.
"Whats wrong, did Rotxo and his friends hurt you?" Neteyam asks with concern.
"No.. they're just being stupid.." I cry, not wanted to tell the whole story.
Neteyam brings me into an embrace, his warm body is comforting. I was jealous of his ability to soothe anyone, he always understood emotions well.
"I totally agree" Neteyam jokes, trying to lighten the mood.
I wipe my eyes and look at him, gently smiling.
"Thank you brother" I added.
"Let's head back now" Neteyam helps me up, and walks me back. Slow enough to calm myself. I take deep breaths, wiping away any remaining tears.
Just before we get back to the rest of the clan, I hear cries coming from everyone. Me and Neteyam slowly walk closer, peeking over a marui to see every ocean Na'vi forced onto their knees. Tall blue Na'vi that looked like us dressed in army uniforms holding firearms surrounded them. I could tell they were talking with Ronal and Tonowari, but I couldn't hear.
I get pulled back by someone, Dad.
"It's happened, sooner than we thought. We didn't have time to plan and now we must leave" He demands.
My heart dropped to my stomach, Quaritch found us. He was going to hurt people, because of us. Any calmness I previously felt disappeared and was replaced with fear.
"We can't! They will torture them like Spider said!" I cry.
"We have no choice, lets go" Mom sobs, holding Tuk in her arms.
Loak grabs my arm and begins to run to the opposite side of the island, where our Ikrans where waiting for us. I had tears once again streaming down my cheeks.
We can't leave. I won't leave.
