** Later in the day **
I had finished helping setting up the decorations and making dinner for the whole Clan. It was nice to see , and Kiri spending time with Spider. Tuk was talking with Mom and Dad and I was hanging out with Neteyam and our friends. We were talking and celebrating the event that just happened when I see Koru staring at me, I look away quickly but feel his gaze still on me. I realized soon after his kissing attempt that I didn't have feelings for him. And I needed to let him know.
"Koru, could you come over here for a second?" I ask.
"Of course Y/N" He smiles.
We walk away from the group, Neteyam is too busy in conversation to realize I left. I look down at the sand and take a deep breath.
"I think you're a really nice guy Koru, but-"
"But?" He cuts me off,
"But.. I don't have those feelings for you and I didn't want to keep talking without letting you know" I admitt.
"Its Aonung isn't it? Y/N, he treats you like shit!" Koru grunts.
"Please don't get angry, It's not Aonung, really.. I just don't feel a, spark?" I mutter.
"Y/N If you give me a chance we can take things slow" Koru begs.
"I think we should stay friends" I utter.
"I understand, and hope that one day I can change your mind" Koru remarks, placing a hand on my shoulder. He steps closer.
Someone grabs his arm and pulls it off of me, Aonung.
"Leave her alone Koru, she's not into you" Aonung demands.
"You don't need to protect her Aonung" Koru responds.
"Both of you, don't start this again. Tonight is for celebrating and I'm not going to let this ruin the night" I declare.
Koru grunts and Aonung clenches his jaw, they both try to look manly. Maybe in attempt to scare each other, I was done with both of them for now. I grab Aonungs arm and pull him away. He looks at me with confusion.
"Aonung, you don't need to keep swooping in when i'm with Koru" I remind.
"He had his hands on you, and he was looking you up and down. I can tell you aren't into him" Aonung states.
"You don't know anything Aonung, I had it in control" I note.
"So do you like him?" Aonung questions.
"Aonung it's-" I begin before getting cut off by my oldest brother Neteyam pushing Aonung aside.
"I need to talk to her, alone" Neteyam commands.
Aonung throw his hands in the air and backs away slowly, making eye contact with me before turning away.
"What it is Neteyam?" I ask, concerned.
"I don't actually need to talk to you, you just looked like you needed saving" Neteyam smirks.
"You're absolutely right" I smile, what would I do without him?
We walk back to a small group of Na'vi that Neteyam was previously talking to.
** A few hours later **
I had just finished eating the large meal I helped prepare with the whole clan, It was the first time I ate outside of the marui. It felt freeing. Once all the food was cleaned up we prepared for a dance. The men and women separated into different groups and got ready. Each side put on more colorfull loincloths and bright body paint. Woman Na'vi came around smearing bright greens and whites across my body and along my face. It was really beautiful. Another woman approached my and put white flowers along my black braids. I had never dressed up for anything, it was exciting. Seeing Mom so happy made me smile.
