I rush over to the shoreline where Neteyam is being carried away on Tonowaris Skimwing, It was faster than an Ilu. Everyone was ordered to ride behind and make their way to the Eywa Tree. I rode along my family, we were at the front next to Ronal and her kids. After a few minutes we all slow down as we made it to our destination, everyone slips into the water but rests at the surface.
"What do we do?" I ask.
"Wait until my Father has connected Neteyam to Eywa, we will all swim down and begin praying" Tsireya smiles hopefully.
"Sounds good" I mumble.
I dip my face under the water and watch carefully as Tonowari makes his way to the roots of the tree, pulling Neteyams body with him and gently connecting his que to the tree. Tonowari glances at the top and nods, everyone dives into the water. I follow.
We all gather near and grab onto a root, and connect. We follow the movements of Ronal, she is swaying back and forth calmly. I feel aligned with the other Na'vi, also praying this doesn't take too much longer since I'll need air.
The Eywa tree slowly creeps over Neteyams body, roots crawl along his skin. It begins to beat as if it had a heart, a rhythmic thump syncs up with our swaying. Ronal begins talking to Eywa, in attempt to bring Neteyam back. I whisper the same words coming from her mouth, maybe If I say it too it will work.. Ronal puts her arms on Neteyam and bows her head to his chest, she listens intently for a sign of life.
Panic rises in my chest, I couldn't be the one to break the rhythm, but I needed air, soon. I look around and see a Gil Mantle pass directly beside me, I was connected to Eywa, maybe she heard me. I connect it to my back and breath deeply. Everyone else slowly finds their own Gil Mantle.
I focus my attention back to Neteyam, the rhythmic beats started speeding up, I didn't know if this was a good sign but by the look of Ronals face, it wasn't. She raises her hand, gesturing for everyone to breath slower and keep swaying. Not a single Na'vi disobeys. The beat coming from Eywa slowed down, a relieved face crossed Ronal.
She continues her ritual, my eyes widen in hope and confusion as Neteyam's body begins twitching. After a moment his body movements match with the rest of us. Ronal's face curves into a wide smile. Everyone else grins, including me.
I almost scream as I see Neteyam shoot up into a sitting position, he looks around in shock. He was a concerned as me. Ronal commands everyone to pull their ques from Eywa and return to the surface. The roots once attached to Neteyam were slithering off of his body. My family and I rush up to him and bring him into a hug. Than Dad grabs his arm, pushing off the sand and up to the top. Neteyam gasps for air, Mom yells in joy and everyone else joins in. It becomes a celebration.
Neteyam rides with Dad, we all make it back with big smiles across our faces, it was nice to see after all of the distress everyone went through. After making it back Ronal pulls Neteyam away to our Marui, where he is ordered to sleep. Tonowari tells us it takes great strength to resurrect like he did today.
Ocean Na'vi run into their Maruis and bring out all sorts of decorations and begin setting them up around the village. Other Na'vi start cooking up the largest fish we have.
"This is how we celebrate, a resurrection like today hasn't happened for thousands of years. It really is a miracle!" Tsireya squeals.
My family starts helping set things up all around, bright colors covering the ash black that was scattered along the island from the fire. I look around in search for somewhere I can help when I make eye contact with Aonung, he is walking towards me.
"Hey Y/N, this has really cheered everyone up.. Neteyam is strong" Aonung smirks.
"He always has been" I smile "I'm so relieved everything can start to go back to normal"
"I want that too" Aonung sighs happily.
"I hope things for us can go back to normal, I promise everything that happened between us was real" Aonung continues.
"I know you want that Aonung... And I thank you for helping with my family, but I need some space" I begin "I need time to think, and spend time with my family".
"Don't take too long" Aonung winks.
"Y/N! I could use your help!" Mom yells, she is trying to cut up a large fish.
"Later Aonung" I wave.
"Later".
I walk up to Mom and help her carry it to a rock, where we begin slicing through it together. I smile, the feeling of happiness washes over me. Quaritch was gone forever, he couldn't hurt us anymore.
Payakan swims as close to shore as possible, Loak runs up to him and informs everyone that he was the Tulkun who helped save us. People cheer for Payakan, they bring food to him. Loak was happy to see Payakan be accepted. So was I.
I laugh as Payakan squirts water at everyone near the shore, Mom joins in. I look over to see Dad comforting Kiri, who was still upset over Spider. I felt bad for her but knew there was no way I could help. My ears twitch up as a sudden change of tone washes over Kiri, she points towards the water.
"HE'S ALIVE!" She yells, running towards the ocean.
I look over and see him, Spider. He walked out of the water and fell to the ground only to be caught by Kiri. He had a few burn marks from the explosion, but other than that he was ok, and alive. I was shocked, but happy that Kiri reunited with Spider.
I continue cutting the fish, pure joy flowing through my body.
Nothing could go wrong now, right?
