The Jaguar stood next to the Wolf as they stood infront of the barrier that separated the star from the outside world. She then took a second to glance up at her friend, who had a solemn, yet stern look on his face.
"Lobo?"The Wolf glanced down at The Jaguar.
"Forgive me for being worried about this...I know he cannot beat you...and...this barrier cannot harm you..Its just.."
She then felt a paw on her back.
"Like you said, La Vida," The Wolf said, "I wouldn't be so quick to assume. This has the opportunity to be seen a different way."
"La Muerte...please just be careful."
"Am I not always careful?"
The two shared a simple chuckle before the Wolf looked back to the barrier, unhooking his sickles and holding them tight.
"I'll be back."
"Should I come in with you?""No, not yet. Wait for a bit."
"alright."The Wolf then began its cold whistle, slowly walking through the barrier, which proved no resistance. Then, The Jaguar was alone.
All was quiet, an earthly quiet. Not even the wind provided noise to calm the nerves of the Jaguar. She couldn't even hear what was going on inside of the barrier, which didn't seem to help at all.
Finally, the Jaguar's worry go the best of her and she closed her eyes, slowly walking through the barrier. An immediate heat seemed to push the Jaguar back slightly as she opened her eyes to see a literal ring of fire just a few feet in front of her. She quickly scurried off to the side a bit, trying to look inside of the ring before the Wolf's voice rang out.
"I came here for an arrogant little legend who thought he was immortal," The Wolf sneered before letting out a deep sigh, "But I don't see him anymore."
The Jaguar let out a small gasp at those words.
"Live your life, Puss in Boots. Live it well," The Ring of fire slowly began to dissipate, allowing the Jaguar to see inside and watch as the Wolf began to walk away from Puss,"You know we will meet again, right?"
"Sí. Hasta la muerte." Puss responded.
The Wolf began to whistle as the ring of fire completely dissapeared and he walked back through the barrier. This prompted the Jaguar to hurry back through the barrier as well, running over to the Wolf.
"What happened?" She asked, grabbing the Wolf's arm gently.
"Let's just say...he respects us now."
The Jaguar nodded before walking in front of the Wolf and looking him over.
"And you're not hurt or anything?"
"I literally just fought a small tabby cat, how could I have gotten hurt? Besides, I'm Death! I can't be killed!"
"Still!"
"Aye, aye gatita," The Wolf teased in response with a chuckle, "Always worrying about me, like you're my mama or something.""I may not be your mama, but I am your friend," The Jaguar insisted, "and I don't want my Querido Amigo getting hurt."
The Wolf then paused, seemingly stunned by her words. He then let out a laugh as he placed a paw on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry for worrying you, then, Gatita."
The Jaguar merely stepped forward and wrapped her arms around the Wolf and hugging tight. The Wolf laughed a bit more, gently returning the hug before The Jaguar quickly let go, stepping back a bit.
"Lo siento. I don't know what got into me." She muttered.
"Its Fine, La Vida. I promise."The Wolf then began to walk, pausing next to the Jaguar and offering his arm.
"Shall we go?"
"Si. We have a lot of work to do." The Jaguar wrapped her arm around the Wolf's as the two walked away from the barrier.
