The Change

I blink slowly, once, twice, and a third time. Nothing. They're gone, they left the room, there is no trace of them ever being in my room. Aside from the candles mixed with blood and melted wax in the middle of the floor, it was like nothing had ever happened. I'm still sitting against my door, trying to understand what the hell just happened.

I look over to my right and see a small piece of parchment paper lying on the floor beside me. I pick it up and read it.
It says," As fun as it was to finally meet you in person, we had urgent matters to attend to in the Underworld, please understand, we shall meet again very soon ❤️ Forever yours- Dastren and Ash" in black ink.

I trace the words over with my index finger, feeling the rough paper against my skin. They wrote this for me, when did they...? They were both just right next to either side of me. How did they just up and disappear? That wasn't very nice, at all. Not going to lie though, they both had me flustered as all hell. They were both soo close to me and being in the same as room as them didn't even feel like I was there at all, they took up soo much space with their presence. I hold the paper in my right hand and slowly get up off of the floor, extending my legs, I stretch and proceed to grab the partially melted candles off of the floor. Shoving them and the piece of paper into my desk drawer, I grab a rag and wipe off the marker that is smeared into the wood on the floor. After a few minutes, I finished the final touches and take a step and make sure that it looks normal.

A knock comes at my door and I clear my throat.

"Coming! Just one sec" I look down at my black pants and blouse and nod my head. I look fine, no need to worry. I go towards the door and unlock the handle, pushing down and extending it outwards. Opening the door slightly, I come face to face with camo. Valen is standing in front of my door looking down at me, smelling of the woods and death, I guess he and his dad are done hunting for today. Then I turn my head and look at my clock, two hours have gone past. Jesus Christ, how long have I been zoned out for?

"Hey Valen, how was your hunting trip with your dad?" still holding the door half way open.

He smiles slightly.

"It was good, shot a deer, and got a few herbs, that's about it though. What have you been up to today?" Leaning against the doorway he puts his hand above him and peers down at me. I fidget with the door handle and clear my throat.

"Nothing much really, just some research, and organizing my room". I lie. I don't want him knowing that I summoned demons into my room and it started to get heated.

"So that's why I thought I had smelled something burning, Lighting things up in there?" He looks into my room and glances around. Then his face comes closer to mine.

"You smell different, new perfume or something?" He asks curiously. My eyes widened and I nervously chuckle and play it off.

"Yea, just trying out something new and different, how'd you know?" Smiling, I open the door all the way and stand there with my arms on my hips.

"It's not all that different, my room I mean, mostly just re-organizing the way I want it to look". He smiles and nods his head.

"Do you mind, If I come in I mean?" His hair sways as he leans forward more into my room and I step aside.

"Sure, that's fine, just don't go snooping through my stuff hahaha". But really, fucking don't go through my shit. I have guns, knifes, poison, and documents hidden everywhere. I laugh through my true feelings and watch as he steps deeper into my room. First, he stops at my dresser, he examines the knick knacks that scatter on the top and chuckles ever now and then. Then he moves onto the nightstand, inspecting my matte black lamp and clock, as well as a few chargers and a glass of water. His eyes move to my bed next, As they roam, he stops midway down towards the foot of the bed and touches the sheet. My eyes widened even more, that's where Ash was sitting not even a few minutes ago. There's no way he'd know. Right? I didn't fully check the walls or the bed, not that should be any evidence that a person was sitting there, let alone a demon. And even so, this is my room, so there shouldn't be any problems.
