You're an Ass

    The day goes on, and in each of my classes, sure enough Ashael was there.

"Did you really have to get all of the same classes as me?" I ask him in our Anatomy and Physiology class. He sits right next to me, of course.

He tilts his head down towards me and nods. "Of course, after the other day, you never know what will happen". I can't say I don't agree with him though, after what happened with the djinn and the shifter, and the Incubus, he's probably worried about me. It's annoying though, i'm supposed to be handling it on my own, I didn't ask for his protection. It makes me feel weak.

"What are you going to do once you turn back?" I ask him. He closes his eyes for a few seconds and taps on my book, I look up at him and meet his eyes.

"I'll talk to the Elders, i'm sure they'll understand the predicament that you're in". The teacher announces the homework for tonight and the bell rings, ending the 7th period.

"What about Dastren?" We pick up our stuff and head out of the classroom, Valen and Leo texted me saying they'll meet me in the courtyard.

"Don't worry about my brother, i'll talk to him when I go back". I nod my head and stay silent, walking out of the building and heading to the courtyard. Leo and Valen wait by a nearby table and lean against it.

"What about your bodyguards?" I fix the strap on my backpack and sigh.

"They've already asked me about you, my brother warned me to be cautious of you. They don't know that you live with us or that you know me, so try to keep it subtle while we are at school". I tell him sternly. He scoffs and rolls his emerald green eyes at me.

"Of course he did, i'm surprised that he picked up on my aura soo quickly. Especially since he's never met me. I can't lie, it's impressive, nothing less from an experienced assassin". He gestures to Leo and waves, instigating him.

"Please don't, I don't want an ear full later". We reach the table where they're at and I wave as we approach them.

"How was class?" Valen asks, barely breaking eye contact with Ash. Men are soo insecure I swear. They see me with another guy, and they act all defensive.

"It was good, learned about the body a little more". Not really though, I could do this class with my eyes closed. I probably memorized the human body and it's functions a decade ago.

"That's good, I see you and the new kid are handing out". Leo speaks up. He glances between the both of us and gives me a cautionary look. He clenches his jaw and his eyes pierce into his. I shake my head and introduce him.

"This is Ashael Morningstar, Ash, say hi. This is my brother, Leo, and our friend, Valen". They exchange looks and Ash smiles, showing his teeth.

"Nice to meet you two, let's get to know each other more throughout the year". He smirks and puts his hand on my shoulder.

"I'll see you later, Via. Nice meeting you guys". He walks away and their eyes follow him.

"So, Morningstar?" I focus my attention to them and Leo is crossing his arms. He's annoyed. I sigh and follow them to the student parking lot.

" I don't like his cocky attitude, he acts pretentious". I'm in the middle between them.

"Come on guys, it's only the first day, you can't not like him because of his arrogance". They both simultaneously grunt.

"I disagree, he's already acting all chummy with you, it's weird". Valen interjects.

'He's in most of our classes actually, and always likes to show off". I stay silent while we reach the lot.
