Cursed Beneath the Shadows

Mixed emotions

  Leaning against the door, I hear a knock come from the other side.

"V, you okay in there?" Tears stream down my face. Sniffling, I get up from the floor and put my contacts in their container and sit on the toilet.

"Via.. can you open up the door?" I wipe my face a few times and see my puffy face. I barely open the door and he pushes it open.

"Hey, what's wrong?" He sees my face and shuts the door. He holds me in his arms and I start crying even harder. He rubs my head and shushes me. After a few minutes, I stop crying and I look up at him, His green eyes meeting mine.

"What's going on V? You never cry like this". I sigh and wipe my face.

"Just a lot going on, with mom and dad, this moving, going to a new school. It's just a lot to process." He sighs and nods his head, understanding how I feel.

"I know, I know, but it's okay, i'm here with you". He wipes a tear from my cheek and fixes my hair. I feel soo pathetic, acting like this.

A knock at the door makes us both look behind us.

"Everything okay in there?" It's Valen. I refuse to be seen like this in front of him. Leo opens the door so that i'm not visible to him.

"Yes, everything is fine, did you need to use the bathroom?" His tone is cold and stern.

"No, just making sure, I heard crying.." Leo closes the door even more, only allowing his face to be seen.

"Don't worry about it, we're fine in here." I could sense him glaring at him. I tug on his pants and he looks down at me. 

"We'll be out in a few minutes". Shutting the door in his face, he gestures his hand towards me and I grab it. Lifting me off the floor he grabs my contact case and opens it.

"Here, put these on". I slide them out and into my eyes, blinking a few times.

"That's better, do you need some more time to get adjusted?" I go to the sink and turn on the water, cupping in into my hands, I splash my face and wipe it dry with my towel.

"I'm okay, thank you". He smiles sadly. He rubs his hair and grabs my arm.

"You don't have to thank me for being your brother, that's what i'm here for. Do you want to go to your room?" I shake my head no.

"Let's go to my room, i'll let you relax". I nod my head and he opens the door. I turn off the light and he leads me to his room, shutting it as we get in.

"Lay down and relax, i'll put on a show if you want". I go under his covers and bring it up to my face, sinking into the warmth.

"Music is okay too". He grabs his phone and plays some classical music in the background, setting it down on his dresser. He reaches over and turns off the light, closing his blinds and lays besides me. I nustle against him and close my eyes. 

Leo's P.O.V.

I see Via coming out of her room with a sad expression on her face and I ask her what's wrong, she smiles slightly and goes into the bathroom shaking her head. After a few minutes I can hear her crying and sniffling from behind the door. I knock on it and ask her to open it. A few seconds go by and I ask again, this time the door unlocks and opens partly. I push it open and see her face all red and puffy. 

I go in and shut the door behind me, holding Via in my arms. She begins to cry even harder against my shirt and I rub her head in circular motions, trying to comfort her.

"Shush.. it's okay, i'm here, i'm here". We sit down and I wipe her tears from her face, her somber mauve eyes stare in mine as I hold her. "What's bothering you?" She explains how moving and the stuff happening with mom and dad and going to a new school is just a lot for her.
