Xavier x Gender Neutral Reader - Request

The Quad. (Which was actually a pentagon to be petty.) Nevermore's social hang out where at least one social group could be found at any given time. Also the place where you met your boyfriend, Xavier, so it held numerous good memories for you. Love at first sight is real, or at least it was for you. Currently you were sitting next to him and leaning against his warm body in the cold afternoon while he worked on his newest sketch. You loved watching him work on his sketches or paintings, the way he held and angled the pencil with such control or the delicacy and precision of his brush strokes was enough to mesmerize you. You however were enough to mesmerize him and being around while he was creating art often meant you were the subject of it. Not that you minded in the least bit. He could always capture your features perfectly.

"Xav...? Whatya drawing?" You said said while resting your chin on his shoulder and trying to get a better look. He smiled from the contact. "Everyone at the table right now."
Enid and Ajax were sitting across from you chatting and Yoko was next to them looking very irritated at being a 5th wheeler in the current company.
Lowering your voice so only he could hear you whispered "Quick, capture Yoko's scowl it's fabulous."
"Haha will do y/n don't worry."
Probably to try and break the conversation between you two, Yoko spoke up.
"Hey y/n you remembered to do that math homework sheet didn't you? It's due tomorrow."
Panic set in for you.
"I- what no...I didn't get it? Will you help me with it please?"
"Sorry I'm busy this evening..." she said unbothered.
"Xavier???"
"You've known me for more than a year now, you should know that I'm no good at maths." He chuckled.
Yoko saw how stressed you looked.
"Hey chillax I've got a friend who is literally a math wizz I'll go get him to go help you OK!"
"Omg thank you Yoko you are a lifesaver!!!"
"Good thing I mentioned it in the first place huh," she muttered while walking away then returning a few moments later with a tallish dark haired boy you had never seen before.
"This is Adrian." Yoko announced.
"Hey... are you willing to help me? "
"Of course!" He said a warmly, smiling.

Xavier Pov

Xavier watched from the bench, a sight feeling of unease rising from the pit of his stomach. Nothing had happened though, they were just saying hello. You are being paranoid he told himself.

"OK great we can go there now!"
Xavier had zoned out focusing on Adrian's face. He frowned. What had they even said?
"Hey see you later love OK?" You turned back to him and waved before walking away with the new boy by your side. Awfully close he thought.
Xavier tried to focus on the rest of his sketch but due to the lack of you it was hard, as he couldn't physically sketch you if you weren't there and he missed your company. He eventually decided to just abandon the drawing altogether and go on a walk to Jericho to get some coffee.

Reader Pov

"Where do you want to meet?"
"Weathervane?"
"Sure, sounds good I'm free now if you are."
"Yep!"
"OK great we can go there now!"
You turn back to the bench and see Xavier staring at you with a strange look on his face. Weird but whatever.
"Hey see you later love OK?"
You waved and walked away and you and Adrian caught the shuttle to Jericho as it was a Saturday. You both arrived at a mostly empty Weathervane and both ordered lattes then settled down in a booth. Sipping on the hot coffee helped the cogs in your brain finally start turning and you could actually attempt the problems. "So Adrian...um this is how far I got."
"Okay looks good so far, I just need to take a closer look..."

Xavier Pov

The walk had turned into a run as Xavier found himself speeding up due to pent up frustration. He had no idea where you were right now and you could be gone for who knows how long with that boy. Usually he'd go to the Weathervane with you and you'd end up spending a couple of hours there, just talking with one another. In fact he was considering just having a to go coffee instead of just sitting there alone. He was just about to open the door when something inside made him freeze.

You and Adrian were side by side sipping lattes, you both smiling wide and you were both very close. At that moment he saw you rest your head on his shoulder, something special only the two of you did. He raced away from the door he was seconds away from opening and hid in a nearby alleyway to catch his breath. Y/n had not noticed he was there. Hurt and betrayal clouded his rational thoughts and at that moment all he wanted to do was run away from you and that stupid perfect boy. You were probably have so much more fun with interesting new Adrian then with boring Xavier. He sprinted all the way back to his dorm, ignoring his friends' concerned looks and questions. Once finally alone in his dorm he dived onto his bed and hid under the covers, letting the numbness overtake him.

Reader Pov

Finally, just when the sun had begun to set, you were finished with the pesky homework sheet and could go back to Nevermore to your boyfriend. Waving goodbye to Adrian and thanking him for his help you headed over to his dorm. Letting yourself in like usual you were surprised he wasn't there but you knew where he would be instead.
"Xav...?"
He had headphones in and was rather aggressively flinging paint at a large canvas.
You took a sneak peek at the painting from behind him and it was a collection of splatters of dark red and black. It was unlike his normal pieces.

Usually his paintings were mood based so you approached with caution.

"Xavier." You repeated louder.

He grudgingly took off his headphones and stared you down.

"Why are you here?" He muttered.

You were taken aback.

"Am I not allowed to visit my boyfriend?"

"Seems like you had more fun with Adrian then me," He grumbled.

"You- that was nothing! He was helping me with maths homework! You knew that!"

"Didn't look like it from the way you had your head on his shoulder," he stated.

"You were there? Also I was only trying to get a better look I promise."   

"Sure," He muttered only half convinced.

"Are you- are you jealous Xavier?"

"He's probably a better match for you. Just go," Xavier said, voice wavering a bit.

Taking a risk, you stepped forward and pressed your lips against his, a gentle but unsure movement. "I would never pick him above you, Xav, besides he's far too nerdy for my liking." Xavier smiled a small smile. He snaked his arms around your waist and kissed back pulling you both closer. You blushed and let him take control, so he knew you were always his. When you broke apart for air, you ran your hands through his silky hair and gazed deep into his eyes.

"I love you y/n l/n."

"I love you more Xavier Thorpe."
