——Chae-Won.
I couldn't focus on any of the classes for the next few hours, as I felt Jungwon's gaze linger on me from time to time. He tried not to make it obvious, his eyes just slightly wandering to me sometimes.
And even if it was only occasional, his gaze made me want to get swallowed by the ground. It held a lot of emotions which—for some reason I could feel. It was like... He was scared, weirded out, shocked, surprised—and whatever other words you could use to describe it.
Fiddling with my pen, I sigh in relief as our last period finally finishes. I pack up my stuff, wanting to get out of here as soon as possible.
I notice Jungwon again, staring in my direction—though not obviously.
I wonder what would cause him to stare at me?- it's not like I look weird, right? Silently talking to myself in my mind as I grab my backpack, I turn around and head to the door,
But barely a step forward and I feel my wrist get grabbed gently. Of course I knew who it was, yet my whole body stiffened at the contact.
“Chae-Won.”
I turned to face him, my eyes landing on his hand which was on my wrist before landing on his eyes.
“Yeah?” Swallowing my nervousness, I unconsciously bit my lower lip.
“...Can I ask where you got that necklace?” His voice was different than usual, it had a type of softness, in it's tone.
I tried to think of something to reply with, “I honestly can't remember, my memory is quite foggy.”
I felt guilty lying, but still! What am I supposed to do?!-
Although he seemed unsatisfied with my response, he just hummed in approval and let go of my wrist which was still in his hold the entire time.
Awkwardly, I muttered a small 'bye' and left the room, finally able to return home.
——Jungwon.
I sat down at our local library, organising what I'd need for this study session.
I held the paper work in one hand, the other I used to rest my chin on on the table.
Although the paper was right in front of me, I wasn't reading it—the necklace Chae-Won wore still on my mind.
I remembered when I first got a hold of that necklace...—
—Taking excited steps forward, the male walked into the jewelry shop located inside the mall.
Despite his busy schedule, he made time to visit the mall and grab the necklace he had gotten custom-made for her.
“Hello, Miss,” he greeted the female who worked there cheerfully, his dimples becoming more visible because of his smile.
“Hello! I'm sure you're here for the necklace, right? I'll just grab it quickly.” Jungwon just nodded in a response, rubbing his hands together, excited to see how it looked.
“Here you go!” The lady placed a small, red velvet box on the counter, and Jungwon thanked her as he opened up the small box to reveal the necklace.
His eyes shone as he looked at it, exactly how he pictured the necklace in his mind. A gold color, with dahlias engraved onto the golden surface of it.
And at the back of it, was his initials. A small smile appeared on his face after seeing the 'Y.J' carved into it.
“I hope she likes this,” he muttered to himself, although the lady who was still on the other side of the counter heard him.
“I'm sure she will, you don't have to worry.”
