— Alexa, play Besharam Rang on loop.
Adani family is known as the best party host. Every party they arrange must leave an impact on its attendees. Like now, on the ship, they turned the ballroom into a magnifique party hall. A lot of people were there. They were the Adani's guests. Some of them were shaking their ass on the dance floor as the music filled the air of the hall. Some others were gambling around the roulette tables. The gentlemen wore black suits while the ladies graced themselves with gold dresses. Everything looked so rich that if you were there, you would smell nothing but money and prestige.
Samar stepped into the hall with hands shoved deep into his pants pockets. His eyes recognized some of his superiors in the army and his business partners in the film industry. But he did not want to join them, though Darshan was there with girls in his hands. He cozied himself in the bar with some fellow gentlemen.
"A good time for refreshment, Signore. What's your poison?" The bartender asked him as soon as he sat on the bar stool.
"Surprise me." Samar lit his cigarette and set his eyes on the party's crowd. A few girls approached him but he did not need any company. Ruhani was enough for him that he felt he should not screw around with any other girls.
Someone tapped on his shoulder as he enjoyed his pleasure. That was the host. Kunal Adani.
"Hey, I never thought I would find you among the drinking gentlemen." Kunal said while taking a seat beside him. Samar did a handshake with the man. They were old friends at school.
"Happy anniversary, man. Tough journey, huh?" Samar's question was answered by a little laugh.
"Well, you have to bear the same woman, the same screaming, the same titties for years... Yes, I'd like to call it tough."
The two men laughed together while sipping their cocktails. Samar saw Darshan having a big smile on his face while kissing the girls. He won a lot, it seemed.
"How is Samaira? Is she okay if you leave her for some time?" Kunal asked, making Samar turn to him again.
"Yeah. I promised I would let her choose a university that she wants to attend. Here or abroad." Samar blew out his cigarette. By the question, he remembered he had not talked to her that day. He forgot where the last time he put his phone was.
Kunal looked at him with a frown in his head. "But weren't you planning to admit her to our university? She will do well."
Samar shook his head. "Nah, friend. She is too stubborn. You know one or two things about handling teen girls."
"I know. Harder than handling a wife."
They laughed again. Kunal told Samar to enjoy the party before excusing himself. Samar was alone again. He chose to approach Darshan with two glasses of whiskey in his hands. He knew his mate loved whiskey more than anything.
"Hey, where have you been, mate? You nearly missed the party." Darshan said as Samar stood beside him. There were two big roulette tables in the hall. Each table was filled with different circles. The one where Samar was currently at was the table of the film industry's bosses. The other one was filled with army officials.
"Inside or outside?" Samar handed the glass to Darshan. His eyes wandered to another table as if looking for something.
"Straight up." Darshan placed his bets on the table. "You want to bet? I won so big tonight."
Samar could only shake his head. He preferred to spend two packs of smokes than spending his money on gambling. Besides, he was not so good at it. He spent half of his life gambling on what was going to happen next. But the more he bet, the higher his expectations, the more ways God told him that his life was not meant to be at God's gambling table.
