Remember Virat? Ruhani's husband? His life had turned upside down after the cruise ship was declared lost in the high seas. The rescue team still could not find any clues about what happened to it. There were no signs, no fragments, no bodies, nothing. His last visit to the search site yielded no results. He met Darshan Advani's son there whose dad was also on the passengers' list. He did not give him useful leads either.

He took a break from his work. He abandoned his shoots. The production of his films were put on hold. Many people had lost their money which makes him the main target of anger of those people. He was an actor, but ten times smaller than Ruhani. Their marriage happened because his parents arranged it to boost up his career. He started getting recognition for being Ruhani Chopra's husband.

After putting Vihaan to bed, he spent the rest of the night in his private corner in the backyard. A bottle of liquor and a pack of smoke were served on the table beside him. He had another version of him post 9 p.m. The destructive one. Everytime he blew out the smoke, Ruhani came into his mind only to destroy him more.

“Still not giving up on those?” His father came then took a seat beside him. He never tried to hide this new addiction from anyone. He was busy smoking a cigarette while his father gave him a long lecture about life this and life that.

“Vihaan is only seven. He can’t lose both his parents at this age.” The old man added.

Virat smirked sarcastically and gulped down the liquor before looking at his father. “I am not planning on dying soon. There’s still many beautiful girls to enjoy.”

“But here you are bawling your eyes out for Ruhani.”

Virat did not respond. He only wiped his eyes then stared at the pool before him. He did not cry because Ruhani left him. He cried because Ruhani left him while she was on the run with another man.

Yup. He knew about her and Samar. He found out about their affair three years ago. But he could not divorce her as he thought about Vihaan, who was only four years old at that time. He never managed to control her. She always acted at her own will.

“She runs away with that man, Papa. I saw his name on the passengers' list.” Virat growled. “That bastard took my wife away. Now they died in each others' arms. What a love story. Romeo and Juliet!”

“I know. I saw the news this morning. The Army will conduct military funeral honors for him tomorrow. He is promoted to Posthumous Lieutenant Colonel. He died a hero.”

Virat scoffed and said nothing. In his eyes, Samar was just a devil sent from hell to ruin his marriage. He never had the chance to meet him personally and talk over this matter. He was willing to solve it as he knew Ruhani would not cooperate for this matter. Time had made it worse by letting it drag on. Now, there was only revenge in his heart.

His father chose to leave him alone, letting him drown in his melancholy world. Only a few steps away from the gazebo, he called him again.

“Please ask Mom to call a pandit here tomorrow morning. We will have a mourning ceremony for Ruhani.”

“Explain yourself.” Samar took a step backwards. He chose to stay on alert, not wanting to fall into a trap just because they knew his full name. Ruhani and Mahika hid behind his back while Darshan advanced beside him. They knew what they had to do if things turned the way they did not expect.

The one stood at the very front whom Samar assumed as the leader smiled at him. “61st infantry brigade, Bihar regiment, 7th battalion. We are under Lieutenant Colonel Shergill’s command. You must know him.”
