13. Revelations

"I swear if it wasn't for Hoseok I would've left right away." Aera folds her arms on her chest.

You, Lisa, and Aera are settled on the couch in Jungkook's living room. Although it has been around half an hour since she had arrived she can't stop talking about what just happened. This leaves you questioning, was it that big of a deal? Or, is she just being dramatic?

"You came here for him in the first place." You hear Jungkook's mocking tone and turn only to find him taking a seat beside Aera. 

You want to slap your hand on your forehead.

"And I still have no clue why you two are always after each other's throats." You speak with a dramatic sigh.

"Alright, I've got an idea. Let's hear it now and help them make up with each other." Lisa sits up straight, with all her attention on the two said persons. You've introduced Lisa to Aera, apparently, they have been along all this while.

"I mean what do you even expect? Would you rather invite the person to your place, who almost murdered you by accident and didn't even apologize?" Jungkook speaks again with a following snicker. Oh boy.

You find Aera burning a hole into his head, while this guy is too focused on television which has become background noise by now. Lisa throws her head back on the cushion, defeated.

"Kook, stop bothering her," Jimin warns throwing a cushion at his friend as he makes himself comfortable. You hadn't noticed Jimin entering the room but he seems to be here long enough to hear their arguments.

"Hyung. . ." Jungkook is about to speak but halts when Aera stands up from her seat and starts walking away. The room goes silent for a moment but not for long before Jimin speaks.

"You're an idiot."

Jungkook doesn't seem to be able to form any words as he keeps staring at the stairs, where Aera had headed just now. It takes a moment for him to realize that he had messed up badly this time.

You had half expected him to laugh or make fun of her. But what he does next surprises you. He gets up from his seat and walks away, following her direction.

You've seen them argue before but they never seemed offended by each other's remarks. They were comfortable with each other, you had thought. But what happened now?

"This guy really needs to learn how to act around the woman you like," Jimin adds shaking his head. Your eyebrows furrow in confusion.

"Wait, what? Do you mean Jungkook likes Aera?"

"Mhmm," he nods. ". . . And he's a fool not to act on it." He says shaking his head, clearly disappointed.

How could you miss that? 

Now that you think about this new revelation, you realizesomething. Aera and Jungkook both like each other. If she hadn't liked him then she wouldn't have reacted that way. The way they're always after each other, it's as if it's only a facade to avoid their feelings. But you can't keep your feelings buried forever. They'll come out eventually and turn your life upside down.
