(A/N: I'm sorry I haven't updated for a little while. I'll be more regular from now on, and I'll let you all know if there's any times I can't update.)

    ----------------------------------------(About two months later)----------------------------------------------------

Ever since their meeting, Amity and Luz had been talking a lot more. None of Amity's peers (she wouldn't call them 'friends'; it wasn't exactly her choice to hang out with them) knew about this new girl, and she supposed she liked it that way. The princess had absolutely no idea that she'd ever meet anyone else that was as passionate about The Good Witch Azura as she was. She turned her attention back to Luz. The girl stared into the trees with a large grin that painted her lips as she went on about her theories related to the series. Amity was trying to pay attention, but her eyes kept wandering to Luz's hair. It was dark and bouncy and maybe a little frizzy but in just the right way. Warm, golden sunlight flowed across her short locks as they billowed in the wind. They looked soft. Amity wondered what it would be like to touch them. Luz turned her head back to face the princess. "Amity?" At the sound of her name, Amity snapped back to reality.

The princess felt heat rise to her cheeks. What was this? The feeling was almost.. fuzzy. But she didn't have time to think about that; she had to answer Luz. "Oh! Um, I agree with you. I wonder what'll happen after book four.." Luz smirked. "You mean book five?" "Well, yeah, but I haven't been able to get my hands on it. "Oh," Luz looked as if she was pondering for a second, and then went and grabbed something from her little backpack. "Here!" She gently thrust a book at the princess. Amity looked down. Number five?! She wanted to squeal, but she knew she couldn't. She didn't want to embarrass herself in front of Luz. Wait, since when did I care about that...?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      Amity was super red.

Does she have a fever? Luz wondered. She seemed fine. It was probably just the lighting, the sun was setting, after all. Luz continued to blab about Azura theories and fanart and whatnot,  things that would've made other kids walk away. They were always uninterested. But Amity stared intently and nodded at all the right parts. The princess, of all people! Luz hadn't really told her mother of her and Amity's interactions, and she didn't exactly know why... but it was always great to talk to her nonetheless. She finally stopped talking and waited for Amity to say something. It took her a second, but she did. Luz could relate; she zoned out sometimes. But when Amity started to speak, she kept going. The two girls held a conversation, both intrigued at what the other had to say. Luz had to admit, Amity thought of some things she had never considered. She was so smart and looked more deeply into things, while Luz used little evidence--mostly emotion and intuition--to make conclusions. They were a perfect contrast. Suddenly, Luz had an idea. She reached into her backpack again and pulled out...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

..A flower crown. Amity didn't know this, but it was the one Luz had made a couple months ago. The flowers were starting to droop, but they maintained their vibrant hues. Luz plopped it onto Amity's head, and Amity blushed in response. Seriously? Amity thought. I mean, it's a pretty gesture, but I shouldn't get THIS worked up about it... but still, she knew--she'd cherish it forever.

Hours later, Amity was positioned on her bed. She had just finished book five, and it was wonderful. It was even more passionate and eventful than the last one, and really tugged at the heartstrings. She knew she'd have to return it to Luz soon, but she wanted to read it just one more time...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It had been a good day, Luz was sure of that. She hoped Amity was alright, though.. she didn't THINK Amity had a fever, but it was hard to tell--she was really red, after all. But even if she was unwell, she could always rest. Luz smiled, knowing Amity was safe. Wait, why am I thinking so much about this? Luz felt her face grow warm. It was confusing, but almost... pleasant. I'm probably just looking out a friend, she concluded. Amity was basically her first friend, after all.. that was why that feeling was new, right? Just then, she heard the door open: her mom was home. She rushed downstairs to greet her, leaving those puzzling thoughts isolated in her bedroom.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amity was tired, but not to tired to think. Resting on her bed, the book laying across her stomach, she thought about her friends. There was Luz, of course, but her other.. peers were Boscha, a stubborn, take-charge leader who just HAD to be the best, and probably was; Skara, the the fluffy-haired sidekick who agreed with just about everything Boscha said; and Cat, Bo, and Amelia, other minions of Boscha who... existed. That group summed up Amity's friends.. even if she didn't want to hang out with them, her parents did, and she didn't disobey them. But.. somewhere in her heart, she wished she had. She wished she didn't have to hang around that annoying crew, she wished she could be more confident in her friendship with Luz, and most of all... she wished she had kept Willow Park.

A/N: Yayyyyyy, cliffhanger! ;)

Even though I took sooooooooo long to write it, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. As I said earlier, I will try to be more consistent in my updates (but no promises). No matter what, though, I will NOT give up on this book. I'm super into it, and I have basic ideas, it just.. takes me a little longer to think of little chapters like these to string them all together. Almost like--transition chapters. You know how you need transition words or phrases in a paragraph so it's not all blocky and stuff? Yeah, like that. So I'm doing this for a smooth story. Nevertheless, have an awesome day/night and I'll see you next time! :)
