I gained consciousness and looked around. I could feel pain all over my body and it was difficult to move. The last thing I remember was being hit during my fight with the Raiden Shogun. I looked over to see Dr. Baizhu sitting in a chair, looking at some papers. He turned to see me awake.
"Oh, I see you're awake now. How are you feeling?" He asked.
I struggled to speak. "I- m goo- d."
"I'm not so sure. You took a bad hit to the head and your body was covered in slashes."
"Wh-res P-amo-."
"Paimon? Oh, I haven't seen her since you got here. She might be staying with someone while you're here."
There was a knock on the door. Qiqi walked in.
"Dr. Baizhu. There is someone who wanted to speak with you." She looked at me. "Oh, hello, traveler. I see you are awake."
"Hi Qi-qi"
"Tell them I'll be there in a second, Qiqi."
"Got it." She walked off.
Dr. Baizhu looked through his papers once more and got up to leave.
"You try and go back to sleep, ok?"
"O-k"
He walked out the door and shut it quietly. I closed my eyes, trying to sleep. My mind was filled with questions and worries about things.
Where was Paimon?
How did I get here?
Was Thoma ok? Did he make it out with his vision?
I had fallen back asleep after a while. Thinking of how to get out of this mess. I woke again when I heard shouts outside the room. My vision was blurry. It sounded like someone was trying to get to me. I couldn't make out much but I'm sure I heard "You have to let me see her." The voice was angry and demanding. I tried to get up so I could see who it was. I fell back on the bed with a loud cry. The shouting stopped. Two people burst through the room looking worried.
"Lumine..." One spoke. "Is she awake?"
"Fairly." The other replied.
The shorter one came closer to me.
"How are you feeling?" I recognized the voice, finally. It was Xiao.
"O-k"
"Your voice..."
"I-m ok."
He turned to the doctor. "When will she be able to leave?"
"Not for another month or so, I'm afraid." He continued. "If you're thinking about visiting, don't come too often. I'm not sure if there will be a reaction to the air outside."
"Okay," Xiao replied. He turned back towards me. "Get better quick."
"I'll tr-y." He looked upset, then walked away.
-------
It had been about a week since he visited. I can leave the bed but not for very long. Dr. Baizhu said I should be fine to leave in a few weeks, but that I must come every few days or so for a check-up. I hope the time passes quickly. I have many things I still need to do. I plan to go back to Inazuma, despite there being a possibility of a bounty on my head. Paimon could still be there waiting for me, and I still need to stop the Shogun and her plans of eternity. I will sleep as much as I can before then.
