....knock.. knock knock knock

A voice from the other side of the door spoke.

"Lumine!" they said. "It's Ayaka, you need to wake up."

I opened my eyes. Xiao was holding me in his arms, still sleeping. I carefully moved free from his grasp and got up quietly, opening the door and closing it slowly.

Ayako spoke. "Oh, was he still sleeping?"

"Not for long." I turned to her, "What did you need?"

"It's almost time."

I nodded. It had been a few days since we got Miko involved in our plan. Xiao was going to come to the plaza with us this time, and we made arrangements to meet at the teahouse before heading to the plaza to draw out the Shogun. I walked into the kitchen with Ayaka, and saw Thoma there, cooking something.

"Morning, Lumine." he greeted warmly.

"Morning," I yawned, sitting on a stool.

Thoma slid two plates in front of Ayaka and me and sat with one of his own. We ate together, making small talk. After we ate, I offered to finish the dishes and while doing them I listened to Ayaka and Thoma talk to each other. I then felt two hands around my waist and a head on my shoulder. I dried my hands and turned around, wrapping my arms around him.

"Morning, Xiao" I whispered into the top of his head.

He hummed and let go of me slowly, going to sit on one of the stools. After I was finished we sat around and tried to talk about anything that wasn't related to fighting the shogun.

Later, Miko arrived to take Xiao and me to the plaza. We talked a bit with her and she gave the Omamori to me. I wanted to be alone for a second before we left, so I excused myself to my room. There was a quiet knock.

"Come in," I whispered. Xiao walked in.

"Something wrong?" He asked.

"Just nervous" I laughed.

He came closer, taking my hands and looking into my eyes. "I promise I'll be there in every way I can, Lumine. I don't know what you'll encounter in there, but-" He cut himself off, leaning closer.

"Just know that..." He kissed me, holding my face in his hands for a while before backing away slowly. "...I love you."

I smiled and hugged him tightly.

"I love you too, Xiao." I smiled at him.

I gathered my things and walked out of the teahouse with Xiao and Miko by my side. There were guards everywhere along the way. They all watched us closely, whispering to each other.

"That's right, that's right..." Miko spoke, walking into the center of the plaza. "Go, run, tell your 'Almighty Shogun.'" Her tone darkened. "We've been looking for her..."

The soldiers shifted, some running off and some staying to keep their eyes on us. Time passed, and the Shogun soon appeared with two guards at her sides, looking much angrier than before. She spoke no words as she lunged toward us. Xiao's spear met her sword multiple times as he covered me. She continuously struck her sword at us. Miko and Xiao worked relentlessly to stop her from getting to me. The Shogun motioned her hands and the soldiers moved in to join the fight. We became further apart while fighting the many soldiers charging at us. The Shogun drew back, holding her sword and whispering some sort of chant to herself. Moments later my vision went dark.
