The group headed home from the festival and soon returned to the teahouse. They decided to turn in for the night. They each returned to their respective rooms to prepare for bed. Paimon was fast asleep at this point and both Lumine and Xiao were lying together, looking into each other's eyes in silence.
"Xiao, I've been thinking..." Lumine whispered.
"What is it?"
"When did you want to return to Liyue?"
He paused for a moment, thinking. "You mean alone?"
"If that's what you want, yes."
"Oh, I don't want to travel alone at all."
"Oh? But I thought being alone was Vigilant Yaksha's whole thing?" She laughed softly.
"Not when he's met someone like you," he said, cupping her cheek and smiling.
She leaned into his hand. "We can do this together."
"Absolutely."
"But when?" she questioned.
"Whenever you decide it is best, is when we will go, dear."
"Tomorrow then? We don't have any reason to stay longer, so why not?"
"Sounds good," he yawned.
He pulled Lumine into his chest and closed his eyes.
"Goodnight, Xiao."
The next morning they awoke to laughter in the kitchen. Lumine looked over and discovered that Paimon had already left the room.
"What's going on?" Lumine asked, yawning.
"No idea." Xiao replied, sitting up.
"Let's go see"
The two stood and left the room, finding Yae Miko chatting with the rest of the group, two shogunate soldiers positioned near her.
She forced a half smile when she saw them. "Well, if it isn't the Traveler! Some, have a seat!"
They sat with her together.
"Who are these guys?" Lumine motioned to the soldiers.
"Oh, it is said that the Inazuman Diety must be accompanied by guards everywhere he or she goes."
"D-Diety?!" She exclaimed.
"Yes. You took out Ei, so now I'm technically the newly appointed Archon. I'd held on to the Gnosis all this time for her, and I was told that her last wish was that I take her place, so here I am."
"Wow... that's..."
"It's definitely an unfamiliar experience to say the least." She paused, coughing. "So, what are you two planning to do next? Elope, perhaps?"
"Uhm... Sort of? We were planning on returning to Liyue soon, perhaps tomorrow?"
Paimon butted in. "Aww! So soon? But Paimon hasn't even tried all of the tasty treats from Inazuma yet!"
"Hey, since I'm off the hook now, I could go and contact Beidou to get you guys back?" Toma asked.
"That would be great!"
"Ok then, I'll go now
"See you later, Thoma!" Paimon yelled after him.
Thoma was absent for half a day. The others discussed for multiple hours about Xiao and Lumine going on the next chapter of their journey. They also talked about Yae Miko taking over as Shogun. Thoma arrived around dinner time with Beidou in tow and they all made dinner together. Beidou and Lumine talked about the trip back to Liyue and decided to leave that night after dinner.
"We need to return to Liyue tonight anyways. We have a shipment to deliver there."
"Sounds good."
-------
Too soon they were at the dock saying their goodbyes, Paimon being the most upset of everyone. They waved profusely at the group as they drifted away from the dock. On the forecastle, Xiao and Lumine watched as the sun set into the ocean, and the day slowly faded into night as the sun sank into the horizon.
