a/n: this was inspired by an actual conversation i had with one of my friends the other day...i, unfortunately, was aether. i don't know anything about skincare, but at least i can use CeraVe, THIS VIDEOS SPONS---
"I need some new moisturizer," you mutter as you and Aeth trail through a Walgreens.
"You're genuinely buying things you're putting on your face from a Walgreens?" Aether scoffs.
"It's a good price and it works. What do you even wash your face with? It's not like you invest anything into your skin," you lean down to glance at a selection of facial moisturizers.
"Water," Aether shrugs.
"And?"
"Water."
"Dude," you laugh. "You have to wash your face."
"Well no one told me that!" Aeth crosses his arms.
"Okay," you stop laughing. "You can start now."
You help him find a container of face wash and tell him to use it at night.
...
The next day, you're in the common room talking and playing a card game with Cirrus and Rain when Aether saunters in all huffy and sits down next to you.
"Is something wrong?" you ask as you take your turn in the game. Cirrus and Rain are holding onto each other so they don't laugh.
"Your 'face washing' is bullshit," Aether grumbles. "My skin is still dry."
"It takes a while to work," you nod. Rain lets out a little chuckle before he disguises it as a cough.
"Shut it, Rain. You've never had to deal with dry skin," Aether scoffs. "I mean look at this--" Aether pulls his helmet off and pushes loose strands of hair back.
Oh...that's what he looks like. You straighten your back and pretend like you're not blushing.
"Whoah, dude. Y/n can't see your face, remember?" Cirrus shoots up to hide his face from you. Aether sneaks a glance and a wink at you over Cirrus' shoulder.
"Too late," you shrug.
"Damnit, Aether," Cirrus huffs. "Put that back on."
...
The next day, you're talking with Terzo about something Imperator told you both to tag team when Aether pulls you out of the office, looks around for anyone else, then takes his helmet off.
"Do you see a difference today?" he asks excitedly.
You smile at your ghoul. "You need to give it a few more days, Aeth."
Seeing his full face morph from an optimistic to puzzled look is adorable.
"It's alright. Stuff like this always takes time," you reassure and give him a kiss before you turn and go back into the office.
