A few weeks later and I was back at work. Everyone was asking how I was and loads of people were looking after me.

I started talking to this girl called Pam and she was really nice. She asked if I wanted a lift home and she would pick me up on the way to work as well everyday. One day she got sent home early as her little girl was poorly and I had no bus money.

I met this guy called Daniel and we got talking. He was about 6ft and had dark brown spikey hair with big blue eyes, he was muscly but slim. He had one of his earlobes stretched with a white spike in it and tattoos on both arms.

He asked where I lived and I told him and he said he lived a few streets away and offered to walk home with me. It took us nearly two hours to get home but it was the best two hours of my life.

We spoke about everything. Likes, dislikes, family, friends everything. I felt like I'd known him for years but it had only been a few hours.

We got to my house and I asked if he wanted to get a lift in the morning with me and Pam. He said yes and he left to go home, before he went he gave a quick hug. He smelt so nice and his hug made me feel very safe.

I got home and stared telling my mum all about him. "Sounds like someone's got a crush" my mum teased.

"Shut up I'm nearly 19 you idiot" I laughed.

The next day Pam picked me up and we went to Daniels to get him. He sat in the back and we had such a good laugh on the way to work. As we arrived Daniel went straight to his locker and Pam pulled me to one side. "He definitely likes you Laura. It's so obvious" she grinned at me.

"Don't be silly were just friends. Anyway I think he has a girlfriend."

"Well you're not getting a lift tonight you can walk home with him again, you can find out then can't you" she walked away with a giant smirk on her face.

"Pam has to leave work early again, can we walk home together?" I asked Daniel.

"Yeah it was fun last night" he smiled.

It got to the end of the day and I saw Pam leaving and Daniel walked over to me. "Ready?"

"Yeah let's go" I said and we stared walking.

I asked him loads of questions about his love life and he told me he was single. "Me too, have been all my life" I laughed and then realised how much of a loser I sounded.

"Wow, that's a long time to be single."

"Yeah I just never found the right guy I guess" I blushed.

"Well maybe he's closer than you think"

I felt butterflies in my tummy and started smiling like an idiot.
