Andres pulls on his tie to loosen it a bit and scratches his head. Valentina taps his arm to get him to stop. they are sitting in her tia's living room waiting for the arrival of her parents and brother.
"you are going to mess up your hair. it took me forever to put it in a bun." she said
"i'm sorry. i'm just nervous and the tie is choking me and the hair tie is tight." he complains.
"everything will be okay." she said and grabs his hand.
he relaxes a bit just trying to be calm enough that he doesn't start teleporting.
"I love you." she said
"i love you Val." he said smiling at her.
he quickly pecks her lips and someone knocks. Mariano goes to answer it and Andres instantly stands up. he straightens is tie as he sees Valentina's family come in. her dad about the same height as him but very muscular. he has the same Hazel eyes as Valentina. looking at Valentina's mom you can see she's the splitting image of her mom but her mom has dark brown eyes like her brother.
"Andres nice to see you." Samuel said
"nice to see you again." Andres said and let's Samuel bring him into a bro hug.
Andres straightens up as he puts his hand out to shake Mr Guzmans hand.
"I'm Enrique Guzman and my wife Selena Guzman. " Mr Guzman said shaking Andres hand
"nice to meet you Mr and Mrs Guzman. I'm Andres Madrigal. " Andres said
Valentina hugs her parents and brother. soon everyone is sitting down for dinner. Andres has a hand in Valentina's under the table.
"so Andres... You are from a good family huh?" Mr Guzman said
"yes. my abuela helps run the town."Andres answers.
"what do your parents do?" He ask
"my dad helps my abuela around town and usually helps my tia Julieta in the kitchen. "
"and your mom?" Mrs Guzman asks.
Valentina tenses and lightly squeezes Andres hand. she knows this can go two ways a bad joke or awkward explaining his moms dead.
"oh my uh mom is into Dirt." Andres said
"like a gardener?" she asked.
"oh no like literally in the dirt... she's dead."
"geez Andres." Valentina said
"i'm so sorry." Mrs Guzman said
"it's okay she's been gone for a while now. she got real sick." Andres said
Mr Guzman clears his throat.
"so.. what are your intentions with my daughter?" he asks.
"papi." Valentina said
"It's okay amor. To be completely honest with you I plan on one day marrying Val and having a family with her. I never fell in love with someone until we met. I would do anything to make her happy even if it hurts me because I love her." Andres Answers.
Mr Guzman nods pleased with the answer.
"I already gave him a good threatening Pa so I think he actually loves Val." Samuel informs his dad.
"you know Valentina's not staying here forever." Her mom said
"She told me about going back home and I'd wait forever and a lifetime for her. Mrs Guzman do you believe in soulmates?" Andres asks.
