DESPITE HAVING ATE TWO massive meals earlier on in the day, Juniper did not hesitate to scoff up her plate of pasta, meat, and spinach, ignoring Nadine's turned up nose.

Brent was nursing a bottle of liquor, Lucy was silently eating her dinner,  Nadine and Yara were having a silent staring contest, and Juniper and Justice were quite placid. But the silence was killing everyone else. If it were up to the twins, they would have preferred the quietness. But, of course, Nadine had to break it when she lost the battle against Yara.

"Right," she said as she ran a napkin over her mouth slightly. "Business."

"Business." Juniper rolled her eyes as she stabbed at her spinach, the cutlery scraping across the ceramic.

"Yes." Lucy set down her knife and fork as she swallowed. "About the mentoring... Juniper, I will assist you whilst Justice, Brent will be with you."

"Do we still need to explain it to you, Missy?" Brent teased Juniper. "Are you smart enough to understand that?"

"I am." Juniper gave him a mocking smile. "But I also understand that neither me or Just is winning so there's that... do you want me to explain it to you?"

Brent raised a brow whilst Lucy blinked numerous times. Nadine didn't seem to understand what they were saying and Yara just shrugged, having heard this before the Parade.

"As I said on the train, there is always a point in trying..." Lucy mumbled as she took a sip of her water. "Considering your situation... mentoring separately is best..."

"Of course it is..." Justice grumbled. "Well, what do we do for training?"

And so, the rest of the dinner was filled with Brent and Lucy giving advice to their separate tributes. Avoid the Careers'. Don't show off. Stick to survival. Be invisible. And as Juniper took this all in, she chuckled under her breath. Of course she wouldn't dabble with the Careers'. If she was going to die, she wouldn't want her blood to be spilled by them. That was her only wish.

So, the next morning when Juniper woke up in her massive bedroom, she didn't feel that nervous about training. She was going to die so there was no point. And so, she didn't even groan when she saw her attire set out on the wardrobe. A tight, grey shirt that zipped up at the front with leggings. A black number ten was on the back of the top.

Juniper slipped the outfit on and quickly ran a brush through her hair that she managed to find in the high-tech bathroom that confused her.

When she entered the dining room, Lucy was the only person visible as she sipped on a steaming mug. Nadine wasn't in sight nor was Brent, Yara, or Justice. Juniper raised a brow.

"Where are the others?"

"Brent took Justice down to training already," Lucy murmured as she looked up. A flash of surprise went across her face at the view of Juniper in her training attire. "Nadine is out and Yara couldn't stand her bickering so she just left..."
