"We should head back" Beomgyu was the first one to break away from your hold on his cheek. Your rose-tinted cheeks couldn't help but make apples when your smile grew wider upon noticing the way he couldn't keep still. His eyes were moving around as if he was trying his best to not look at you.- Embarrassed.
"You mean that I should head back" You corrected him with a smart tone.
"Hmm?"
"I can see that you still wanted to stay here, and my appearance is making a burden for you" You detailed, putting both of your hands behind your back as you slowly took small steps away from him.
"It's dark" Beomgyu exclaimed making you stop.
Looking back, you saw him still standing there where you left him. His eyebrows pinched together at what seemed to be a worry.
"I'm not afraid of the dark" You confidently said as you placed both hands on either side of your hips. A brave show with your chin raised in pride, but then, you watched him lift his hand, snapping his fingers.
"Oh really?" He playfully replied. Snapping his fingers for everything to be engulfed in darkness. It was already dark in his kingdom but the moonlight acted as your only source of light earlier, but now everything is pitch black, cold, and heart shaking.
You nervously gulped down the fear that you were feeling, biting down your lips.
"I thought that you weren't afraid of the dark?" All of your senses left you defenseless when you felt Beomgyu standing behind you. His breath tickled your neck as everything grew hazy, his voice was so close to your ear that you were scared to make a move when you felt his lips brush close to your ear when you did.
"S-Stop playing around!" You panicked in a flustered state.
Your eyes widened from what you heard next. He laughed. His deep baritone voice sounded so lively that it went around like music.
"Alright, alright" Beomgyu gave up on the plan of continuing his tricks. If he wasn't the God of Death then he could be the God of Mischief instead from all of his tactics.
You heard him snap his fingers again for everything to return to normal, the moonlight continued shining, and the Kingdom of Ikosta grew its power again.
"C'mon" Beomgyu started, mentioning you to follow him with a tilt of his head as you carefully walked behind him down the hill.
While following him, you couldn't help but watch his back. Everything stayed the same but something felt different between the two of you now, the heaviness is now gone and the ice melted, leaving you to get a chance to be close to him. He also opens his mouth more, he talks back to you and doesn't shut you down anymore unlike earlier and the day before that.
You smiled widely, hands falling to your side with the thought that you finally made him your friend. The only sound floating around the two of you was the sound of the leaves being stepped on and the soft breeze whistling through the woods.
