Ch 8 - Lament of a Brother

The military chained the twins in the same room as both were unconscious from the events that occurred

Clay was the first to wake up, feeling cold chains on his neck and wrists. He shuffles while sitting down, but felt a heavy tug

"Huh?" he mumbles as he followed the chain up with his stare, noticing it was connecting to his brother's chained wrists as well

The neck chains were not connected, thank god. Clay tugs hard, waking his brother as he winced in pain

"The hell? Why is it dark?" he winces as Clay just sighs, "We were caught."

Cole: Let me guess, this was part of your plan?

Clay: In a way, yes, but I don't know these humans like the ones at George's home

Cole: You sleek son of a bitch

Clay: All that matters is that I got you here

Cole: And? You got yourself in here too, meaning I still have a chance to -

Clay swings his arms down as it made Cole's arms go up. He screamed as he felt pain sting hard from the back and side

"OK! OK! OK!" Cole pleads as Clay loosens his arms down, seeing Cole breathe hard and began to cry

"Why, of all times, are you crying?" Clay asks as Cole swings his arms, trying to do the same, but Clay grabbed the chains from the wrists and swung harder, making it whip Cole's shoulder as he screamed and bowed in pain

Cole looks at Clay, seeing he had blood on his face, a cut eyelid, dirty clothing from all the dirt they had rolled and tumbled down on, and bandages on his thigh, from when Cole threw the blade, it made contact

"Cole," Clay looks into his brother's dark emerald eyes. Cole felt some sort of sensation. A pure kind, that only by staring into the light emerald eyes, it soothes you and calms you

"Cole, I'm sorry for being born. I cannot make your wish come true of dying, because I have a life of my own. If I had nothing, maybe me evading your attacks would have been for nothing, but at least I have a reason to live."

Clay inhales and exhales deeply. He feels his body growing heavy and chuckles, "I enjoyed this battle, even when it hurt me to realize I had a twin brother."

Cole felt his heart sting. What was this pained feeling? It wasn't from a battle, but from deep inside of his hatred for Clay, he felt emotions, a pained feeling he never wanted to have if Clay did this

Cole cries, making Clay look up as his brother curses loudly. "WHY MUST YOU BE THIS KIND?! I TRIED TO KILL YOU! WHY ARE YOU SHOWING SYMPATHY FOR ME?!?!" Cole screamed, not knowing what this feeling was

"I am only showing you something I never gave you, because all you saw was our parents giving attention to me most, but if you payed me a visit to my room, you would've seen all the gifts I had prepared for you," Clay coughs as he winces from the pain on his thigh
