MILLIE AND FINN BOTH ENTERED the tall building together. Once they made it. Inside was sleek and clean, futuristic. Finn knew Lia would be on the higher floors, so the elevator was the way to go. "Gosh, do you ever get used to this place?"
As they walked into the elevator, she glanced behind her to see if anyone was watching. "It's alright for me to come along, right?" Millie perked up from beside Finn.
"I don't see why not; we're just here to pick my phone up." His tattooed-covered hand pressed the top floor. The best part of no longer working here was the freedom not to cover his tatted body.
Millie had never been inside the building besides only giving Finn his lunch when stopping by. The air conditioning must have been on full blast this morning because her body felt close to freezing up.
The elevator doors opened before the designated time, and a blonde appeared from the opened doors.
"Finn, My man. Did they rehire you?" Daniel smugly walked into the elevator, not paying attention to Millie; he turned away from her.
"Lia has my phone." Daniel nodded at this, staring away and noticing the brunette beside him. "Oh, Hello. Are you an intern or what?"
"Um." Millie raised her eyebrow at him, leaning forward. "I'm Finn's girlfriend." Daniel's lips turned into an O before looking away.
"Wait, I thought she was... You know." Daniel stuck his tongue out.
Millie watched as Daniel glided his thumb along his neck in addition to making a dead sound effect. "That's my ex-girlfriend, Daniel."
Finn uncomfortably put his hand on Daniels's shoulders and moved him along, so Finn was now between them. "Oh right, I forgot."
"Did you know his ex-girlfriend?" Daniel leaned over to see Millie. "Hey, Let's not do this. Stop."
Everything always came back to Y/n— Always. Nodding, Millie stared back at Daniel, the two leaning over Finn. "She was a close friend of mine."
She tried to smile slightly, Not necessarily fake, but it was forced. Daniel's face scrunched up in disgust.
"Girl code is still expected after death." Daniel stepped to the elevator door and faced Millie, putting his arms to form an X.
Like some perfectly timed moment, the doors opened, and Daniel stepped out, not even giving them another glance. "You told him about Y/n?" Millie cringed as they walked down the hall.
