Fan wordlessly walked behind Test Tube, following her as she went through the building. He had his flashlight out in case something happened to the power, but other than that his arms were full of the two odd metal spheres the scientist had given him.
It was cold, freezing even considering it was the middle of winter and midnight was approaching. The metal that constantly touched Fan's arms certainly didn't help with the temperature either. He didn't complain though, instead keeping quiet. Just wordlessly following Test Tube.
"..:What are these things anyways?" Fan asked, looking down at the spheres in his arms. "They're cold. Like, really cold."
"You'll find out in a moment." Test Tube replied, not pausing in her venture. Though she did quickly add on afterwards, "But they are safety devices."
"Safety from what?" Fan asked wearily. Test Tube shrugged, not giving him any sort of answer. This put Fan on edge, but he decided it would be better to wait and see. She had to have a good reason for keeping it a secret, right?
She stopped in her tracks shortly after, standing near one of the windows on the first floor. It was about now that Fan noticed that Test Tube was holding a third invention of hers, this one also a circle like the two Fan held. However, this one had an odd pink glow to it.
"Test Tube, is it supposed to be glowing like that?" Fan asked, gesturing towards the orb.
"Yes, it is. I'll show you why in a moment." Test Tube said, gently setting the device on the ground. "Now, could you pass me one of the two you're holding?"
Fan nodded, handing her the metal object. Test Tube muttered a thanks before pulling out some sort of metal pole, which Fan recognized as a voice recorder.
She set it to full volume before pressing play. Marshmallow's voice came out of it.
"Hey Soap, could you come here for a moment?"
The recording then stopped. Fan opened his mouth to ask a question, but Test Tube lifted one of her fingers to his mouth, shushing him. He took a couple steps back, trying to tell what Test Tube's goal was.
Soon enough, Soap entered the room. She seemed confused as she did, but also fairly annoyed. She opened her mouth to ask where Marshmallow was, but was quickly stopped.
Test Tube threw the device at Soap, which actually made physical contact with her surprisingly enough. Before Soap could tell what was going on, she vanished into what Fan assumed was thin air. The device fell onto the floor.
"Wh- DID YOU JUST KILL HER?" Fan panicked frantically looking at Test Tube. Test Tube's composure remained unharmed, as if she hadn't just potentially murdered somebody. Double murder, technically.
"Fan, calm down. I made these to protect, not hurt." Test Tube said, gliding over to the sphere. She picked it up, holding it in both of her hands. It had the same pink glow the other sphere did now. "She's simply inside the device now. Not permanently, but until it's safe to come out."
"Oh, so it's a Pokéball?" Fan said.
"Fan, this isn't... Okay, maybe the design is similar to a Pokéball." Test Tube said. "But that's besides the point. The pink glow indicates she's in there, and as far as I know you can't break out unless somebody helps."
"Ah, so the other thing has Bow then." Fan thought out loud. Test Tube nodded, affirming his thought. She walked over to Bow's sphere, placing Soap's right next to it.
"Alright, I'm going to need you to listen to this next part very carefully Fan." Test Tube stated, turning towards him. He nodded firmly, keeping his attention towards her the best he could.
